For All…
This is for all the people who face each day
without family behind them
without partners beside them
without society in their corners
But still, they manage to roll up their sleeves and do the work of the day
This is for all the people who break down barriers
save countless lives
provide a smile
give encouragement
But still have no voice or rights in the skin of society
This is for all the people that
face the fight
live the life
make the sacrifice of paying with their lives,
for marriage legality
for insurance
for all the things everyone else is given as a right
as we all, LGBTQ – get denied
This is for all the soldiers in this war of equality
who refuse to be labeled
who refuse to be shut down
who refuse to be told who we can and cannot love
This is for all the teens who caved under the pressure
gave into indiscretion cause they had no one there for them
cried a million tears to add to the million rivers of
blood and sweat of those before and after them
You’re heard.
You’re respected.
You’re loved.
This is for all the LGBTQ’s
for those that love us,
revere us,
appreciate us
for who we are
for how we care
for how we go on, while society
Bruises
Kicks
Shatters
Our lives and dream
sand we continue to meet society with open arms…
despite the hate.
This is for the lonely, broken hearted
down trodden
of our family…
… reach out,
scream out- you will be heard.
This is for the people
who wake each day
and become exactly who it is that they know they are.
Be strong.
Be strong.
Be strong.
Fight on.

Sandra,
That was amazing.
You have no idea how good it felt to read recognition like that.
Thank you.
