Ok, in case I didn’t piss you guys off enough last month… here comes my opinion on pride parades.

I think pride parades are a good and bad thing… mostly good though.

Good because it brings us unity and a sense of “we are not alone” - umm- ness. We’re visible. The world can’t pretend we aren’t here… at least for that moment in time. We can come together, get information, find families like our own and just have a (pardon the pun) gay ole time.

The only downfall to pride, in my humble opinion, is that people who look to it as a representation of our community often only remember the flashiest of us all.

Well, who wouldn’t? I mean, if you had a choice of which person to store in your memory banks, me in my jeans and sweatshirt or her in her assless leather chaps and kamikaze tits, would you really pick me?? Yeah, I didn’t think so.

So, the old stereotypes live on……. and on….. and on….

But, I do think that the good far outweighs the bad so…… long live Pride Parades…
