Theme: Lesbian Icons

My lesbian icon idols or role models are really pretty simple.
Xena and Gabrielle, Xena Warrior Princess, because even though they weren’t truely a lesbian couple, they so were in so many ways. The represent friendship at it’s best and worst times. They also represent a love that transcends time, death, hate, fear, and that really transcends the limitations of being physically human.
Tara and Willow, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, because they represent the college love affair of a lifetime, and all the sweetness that brings. In the end they represent the relationship that couldn’t last for various reasons. Not wouldn’t, but could not.
Lastly, Bette and Tina ,The L Word, because they represent the mature, ready for a family and committment, relationship that I crave. They have major life altering problems, but they also have a great and abiding love. I know Bette screws up, litterally, but it seems to me that Bette and Tina will make it.

Lesbian Quotes

The Bible contains six admonishments to homosexuals and 362 admonishments to heterosexuals. That doesn’t mean that God doesn’t love heterosexuals. It’s just that they need more supervision. — Lynn Lavner
