introducing
Right, so an introduction.
Well…this is my first ever blog.
I came across this site after a random and haphazard search for other women, who liked women but hopefully not me in particular.
You see I came out last year, (when I started my first f/f relationship) and while I am completely happy with my self and my life and my partner, I am interested to know other women who I relate to in this manner. yet still purely platonically.
My friends are all straight, and although they’ve being (mostly) supportive they still don’t quite understand, so I get stupid questions or worse, jokes from time to time.
I’ve been told that “I’ll get bored (why? I couldn’t possibly imagine), grow out of it ( I sincerely hope not), I am an abomination (that’s my religious bit for the month), and that because I’m ‘just one of the guys’ should be expected to laugh at their crude behavior. ( I’m pretty tolerant but some comments are just too much ) I am no longer friends with some, and with others our friendship has shifted gear. ( I am eternally grateful to those few true friends who remain as true as before )
So I guess I’m expressing a desire to interact with people who don’t see my choice of lover as different. Yet I am reluctant to approach other women, or groups or such because I am unsure as to the protocols and do not want to be mistaken for single and looking. I do not socialize much and therefore it’s fairly rare to meet new people let alone gay women.
So thank you all for your blogs and posts, It’s been great for me to hear you stories, opinions and essays.
I expect that’s a long enough intro, but I’m sure I will share many of my own opinions, and you will find out way more then you would like to know as I get more comfortable blogging.
For now, I am content to say that I am finally able to live my life with out restraint. To love, be loved and to learn that I can truly be happy.
