Is Summer Here Yet??????
First off let me say that this dyke is ready for some warm weather. If I have to look at one more snow flake I may go off the deep end. I long for those summer nights hanging out with all my friends on the patio of my favorite bar. Just a few more months I guess, but it’s just a few too many for me!
With that said I visit quite a few gay websites and blogs during my winter hibernation. I’ll list my top 5 here. Some I’m sure you’ve heard of and the rest you should check out.
1. 365gay.com: Gotta keep up to date with all the news. Even when it’s frustrating and depressing.
2. Pink is the New Blog: This has been a guilty pleasure of mine for quite some time now. It speaks to my inner gay boy and I love it. Plus he’s a local hero!
3. Occasional Bitch: For my daily does of humor. She’s a witty little thing.
4. The Dyke Squad: I visit this site to keep me informed and it also keeps my activist flame a burnin’.
5: SLINC: This is a shameless plug of my own. It’s my online store where I turn my life into T-shirts, stickers, and other fun stuff. You can also pick up TLL merch there. Shameless I am… Absolutely shameless.
On to The L Word. I love the show. I love it’s flaws and it’s “hit the nail on the head” moments. I get rather tired of people bitching about it. I’m personally thankful that it’s around. It’s a great way to bring my friends and I together. I look forward to “L Word Nights” all week. I would love to be a writer for the show. I will continue to watch it for as long as it runs. And the lesbian vampire storyline made my year. HOT!
So was I born gay? I think so. I have memories of having feelings for girls all the way back to when I was 5 years old. To me it’s always been a part of me. Just like my dark hair and green eyes. And if someone told me that I could be straight tomorrow I would politely decline. I’m not sure if it’s a gene or some other form of genetic whatever. Many of the lesbians I know today have been abused or raped. I say that with kit gloves. Knowing that the statement opens Pandora’s box. But it has made me wonder about how it all happens. Bottom line is that we are all on our own journey to finding love. Finding it and living it is the key. It’s never really mattered to me what was in someone’s pants. I say that I was born gay, but I’m always open to argument. It is after all what makes the world go round.
All three topics in one post! Ta da! Take care all. And keep on being as gay as you wanna be.
