2006

I can’t believe this year is almost over. It’s gone by so fast. It doesn’t even feel like Christmas to me. I’ve had some extremely disastrous relationships whether they be romantic or otherwise. I dated a blind guy who constantly needed my help in finding his glass eyes in the bed. I moved out of my mom’s house with a flamboyant gay man who was in the closet…posing as a florist and church musical director. On the weekends we’d get sloshed at drag clubs. How’s that for church material? And then there was the girlfriend…Kelly. She seemed nice enough. Now she’s in a year-long Christian based psychiatric treatment facility. I sure know how to pick ‘em! But in all of that, so many good things have happened to me. The best being when I met my current girlfriend, my fiancee. I knew I couldn’t live without her the first time I heard her laugh–and that was before we’d even met in person. Since that day the feeling has grown to something bigger than anything I’ve ever known.

Also, my brother came home from Iraq and my dad left for Iraq within the same two month period. For the first time ever, I got fired from a job (from which I still haven’t recovered, as sad as I am to admit that). But all in all the year has been good. It’s been a whirlwind. I am looking forward to so many new and exciting things next year. I can’t wait for 2007 to begin.

My resolution for the world is unconditional love. Love despite differences, obstacles, and hatred. If everyone worked a little harder to love one another, the world would be a happier place. I know it’s cheesy…leave me alone. I’m newly engaged.

Lesbian Quotes

John Kerry didn’t out me, nor did he offend or attack me by calling me a lesbian. I certainly couldn’t be offended by the truth. — Mary Cheney
