Lesbian Gamers Launch Website
I don’t know about you ladies, but this girl is a HUGE gamer. The last two months killing people in online multiplayer for Halo 3 on my Xbox 360 has been my own personal therapy. You can imagine how excited I was when I received this press release in my in box. (PS: My gamer tag is KELLY1878 if anyone is interested in playing)
Lesbian Gamers Launch Website
New Website Dedicated to Lesbian Gamers
The blurb says “because sometimes we like to use our hands for other things”, so clearly the newly launched Lesbian Gamers .com knows how to have fun whilst delivering video game content, for lesbian gamers, by lesbian gamers.
Stunned to see the lesbiangamers.com domain name free these women set out on a mission and started the site, which will feature daily news, articles, a forum, shoutbox and reviews – all with a little pinch of tongue in cheek lesbian sprinkles. Originating in Australia, on the sunny Gold Coast, Lesbian Gamers.com launched at the beginning of November and is hoping to gain support from not only the lesbian community, but the gaming world also.
Lesbian Gamers Content Manager Angela Simpson states “Guys have plenty of gaming sites to visit and gay guys have a couple also, and whilst these aren’t strictly designated guys only, the membership is heavily weighted in that area, so we’re hoping to even out that balance, by giving women their own space. There are a LOT of lesbian gamers and we’re hoping they’ll support what we’re trying to do”
Lesbian Gamers is a spin-off site to the also recently launched GirlGamers.com.au, also an Australian based gaming site that features news, views and reviews of female gaming downunder. Tracy Whitelaw, PR for both sites and the well established ThumbBandits.com stated “It’s time for us to have a full on lesbian site. We’ve been lucky enough to have a lot of support from lesbians at Thumb Bandits.com and now we’re giving them lesbians who game their own space. Look, we all have in common that sometimes we like to use our hands for other things, so let’s talk about it and have fun with it.”
The women behind the scenes are hoping the lesbian gaming community will rally behind the site to give a firm and established voice from that particular gaming demographic.
