A Long Time Ago, In A Universe Far Far Away…
Dancing Girl
Life two-stepped past my jaded vision;
Purple-sweatered apparition
Perfect in the circle of the wooden floor.
Your incense, clove cigarettes and beer,
Caressed my skin, drew me near,
Like lodestones to North,
Seeking the perfection of
Ripened lips and hips.
Outside your dancing circle,
My clumsy heart can only watch;
You are the Quest I once began.
I know what I could teach you,
If only I could reach you;
My unused fingers tracing
Fire in their wake,
I could make you
Sigh, and
Cry
A different tune within my arms.
My mind has flown to future chances,
If our surreptitious glances met,
If you took these offered words from trembling hands,
Would I see you run in fear?
Would you stop, and turn, and jeer?
Or would you smile, and nod and take me in your Dance?

GG, wonderful, descriptive poem. I hope you dance!
