I go through phases of attending and not attending gay-friendly churches, and I do give a percentage of my money....just not to the church. I think it's a good rule of thumb that if you have some to spare, and even if things are tight, there are always those who could use it...animal causes, people needing assistance, etc...but I'm not giving it to some organization. I give directly. Bones to every dog at the shelter for christmas, legal services for LGBT folks, etc....I think it always comes back around.
