They don't want to lose a customer base, or turn off a certain part of the population from utilizing their services. sadly, the truth is, that until it's okay to be gay...and we're seen as normal as the next person, there will be some backlash for being who you are...in writing, etc... Until then, sometimes you have to choose between the job, and being as open as you'd like.
