Happy Birthday TLL

happy-birthday-tll
Hot:

Four years ago I got into blogging. Always interested in the stories behind the people I created TLL on a whim. In four years I have seen blogs come and go. I have seen small blogs make it big and big blogs sell out to the man. Somewhere in the middle The Lesbian Lifestyle has found it’s place in the world of blogging.

The goal was never to get too fancy and to stick to the heart of the matter. I wanted to show those who would read the blog just how alike and different we all are as women, as lesbians, and as humans. I wanted the person who had never met a lesbian to be able to read a post on TLL and see a bit of themselves in what we had to say. I wanted other lesbians to be able to read the posts on TLL and see themselves. I wanted to get conversations started and bring people together the way only a blog can.

After four years I am still excited to read the new posts from over 170 registered TLL authors. Some of you have been here from the beginning, others have come and gone. The truth is that the blog is nothing without all of you. I will never be as interesting as all of you are combined.

TLL will never be one of those blogs that gets a million hits a week. But it is a blog that has stood the test of time and continues to grow in posts and readership. This year marked a new layout, and next year we will launch the bigger and better TLL Blog of the Year Award now called The Lezzies! The work I have put into this blog has been like a never ending gift. I have met some amazing lesbian bloggers and continue to expand upon the network.

So cheers and Happy Birthday to TLL. A huge thank you to all the authors and those that go above and beyond to help make this blog a staple for lesbians around the world.

They are our stories and they will forever need to be told!

While I’m on the topic of telling stories. I was just emailed the trailer for the new Harvey Milk movie, respectfully entitled Milk. Sean Penn stars in this momentous film, along with James Franco, Josh Brolin, and Emile Hirsch. The film opens November 26th, 2008.
