Truth, Lies, the Media, and Politics

truth-lies-the-media-and-politics
Hot:

WTF! I’m going to need you to watch the video below before I continue to freak out.

I am not voting for McCain. However while watching this video it struck me just how much the media and editing fills us with so much bullshit it’s insane. Right now I could tell you that Barack Obama said the sky was blue. Within the time it would take you to heat up a hot pocket you could site 3-5 other sources that state he feels the sky is orange, red, or one that even swears they heard him say it’s furry.

I have always stressed that we need to educate ourselves when voting. Never has that education been more important than now. But how do we strain the truth from the crap. How do we know the news site we frequent has their facts right.

I told myself that I would feel better about things after the debates. I didn’t. All I wanted to do was grap the mic out of the moderators hand and beg for some form of truth! Because it doesn’t matter what any of them say, it doesn’t mean it’s going to happen. It feels like there is no truth. Politics is the house built by religion and money no matter how many times I’m told otherwise.

I will vote on November 4th, but I will still feel hopeless. If Obama wins I have a feeling the senate will fight him on everything. If McCain wins I can’t imagine things getting any better. I live in Michigan, one of the hardest hit states of the current recession. I will vote, but I will feel helpless. It’s time for another revolution. I’m not sure in what form it will take, but it does feel like it’s finally time.

I promise no more politics for me. Just had to get this off my chest.

Girl, you are just echoing all of our frustration. Don’t even worry about it.

I’ll have to come back to watch the vid (firewall).

Yeah I never believe that so-and-so voted to kill puppies. If you want the truth look at international news.

American news went in the same direction as our government. Commercial and false.

As a lesbian, people need to think about who they are voting for. I am voting for John McCain. He is the best choice for the job. No matter who gets into office, nothing will change for the glbt community. There will always be the ones that hate us behind our backs and the ones that hate us to our faces, that will never change. McCain is the one for the job and plus a woman for VP. Obama is not the answer. Please check into your facts before you vote. McCain 08 Thanks, Cathy

Spin, spin, sugar… Kind of reminds me of that song. Cathy, we are all entitled to our opinion, that’s for sure, but I just can’t see voting for McSame. I just can’t see it.

I can’t even make out what ken was trying to say.

As for Cathy — of course we are all free to vote for whomever we want… but aside from LGBT issues — Obama cares about social issues and about getting the “little man” back on track.

Not to mention the fact that I don’t believe McCan’t will survive his presidency — then what? We get Political Barbie as President?

    I think not.

Then — she’d match what our nation has become. Shallow, stupid and superficial.

Don’t believe the hype. McCain will only continue the nightmare we’re all living in.

    Greed begets greed.

I opposed the Defense of Marriage Act in 1996. It should be repealed and I will vote for its repeal on the Senate floor. I will also oppose any proposal to amend the U.S. Constitution to ban gays and lesbians from marrying. — Barack Obama
