Great post, Kelly, funny yet poignant. What's "fat" anyway? Does your weight/size keep you from doing anything that you want to do? If not, then I say you're not fat, you're just your size. Women have been SO taught that they are not to take up too much space. Notice in cultures where food is scarce, "fat" women are quite valued--because they are healthy and successful at getting fed. Where food is plentiful, "fat" is anathema; apparently, it shows a lack of "control". I've fought this battle my whole life and probably will continue to do so till I die. But, dammit, my size is my size and if folks don't like it, they can just get out of the way.

Kudos to you and big fat wet raspberries to MySpace.

Thanks for writing about this...I had no idea that this was happening and it really annoys me. It was such an exploitive thing to do. You should email them this post.

What they are doing is hardly subtle, but it is the many things like this that give people messages leading to unhealthy methods of weight loss, depression, etc...when, truth be told...we all have different body weights, types and figures.

kelly, I hope you never get caught up in letting these jerk-offs make you feel badly. It's cool that you are honest, and hopefully proud of who you are - and they shouldn't be sending you crap to try to change it.<div class="comment-remix-meta"><a href="#" class="replyto" onclick="replyto('3558','Jul'); return false;">Reply</a> - <a href="#" class="quote" onclick="quote('3558','Jul','Thanks for writing about this...I had no idea that this was happening and it really annoys me.
