Gold Star Review: Good Dyke Porn

A few weeks ago, Bren Ryder, the woman behind GoodDykePorn.com, contacted me about doing a review of her site. I said I would be happy to and asked her to send me a DVD to take a look at. Who am I to turn down porn? Bren and her lady friends are based in gorgeous Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. The sex scenes on the website are created documentary style in order to convey the true intimacy and sexual connection that is occurring in real life. Some scenes are between real couples and some are created for the sake of sex for sex’s sake. Good Dyke Porn is a membership site and paid members will be able to see all available exclusive footage in high quality streaming video.
So last night I popped the DVD in the DVD player that has seen a variety of sexual escapades. I went into this viewing with an open mind. As I have mentioned before I am not a fan of lesbian porn. I tend to prefer straight porn or even gay porn when the mood hits me.
So how was it? Well it worked, twice. But watching this porn really got me thinking. To me there are scenes in porn that I like to call “Mission Killers”. In gay porn it’s the lubbed up butt hole shot, in straight porn its a woman giving a guy a blow job and making that terrible gagging sound. These are scenes that simply ruin the moment for me. Making me give up or wish I had another hand to work the fast forward button on the remote.
The women on this site are real, very real. They are not the women I have grown accustomed to seeing in porn. They are not flawless, in fact, some are larger, hairier, and much more in tune with saran wrap than I am used to. When these aspects of the porn turned me off I had to wonder, do I have the taste and porn standards of a straight man? Do I not appreciate authentic women and the reality that this porn has brought into my bedroom? Am I a bad person for not getting turned on by hairy legs and black rubber gloves? Am I not a good lesbian because for the most part Good Dyke Porn wasn’t for me?
Viewing this porn was not all for not. There is something to be said for the commitment and bravery of the women behind this website and it’s mission. It’s just that everyone has their own taste, and this just wasn’t my bag of treats, but I know it’s for many of you. It just goes to show that we all have different opinions on what’s sexy and that’s okay. I suppose I could have lied and told you I loved it all, but I couldn’t do that. So with truth on my side I will recommend you visit GoodDykePorn.com if you want to see real women having a real good time. It may not be for every lesbian, but it sure is for a lot of them!
