Vibe Review‘s Under the Bed Restraints made by Sportsheets is made up of a sturdy strap that goes under the bed and comes out at four points around the bed, with four cuffs that attach with metal O-rings and leash-type clasps. The cuffs themselves are a soft yet sturdy material with a velcro closure, rather than the belt type buckles of some more traditional cuffs (often made of leather). I haven’t found any cons here, so I’m going to just do a run down of what you need to know and my thoughts on each.

• The cuffs fit me! I was kind of concerned they wouldn’t. I figured they’d fit my wrists, sure, but my ankles? Surely, no. I’m a bigger gal with thick, muscular legs and very non-dainty ankles (I just checked, 12 inches around) so I was just waiting for that awkward moment with my partner where the cool new toy wouldn’t work for me. That didn’t happen, I’m pleased to announce. While they were obviously on a larger setting, the velcro closed and had a secure connection to itself, enough so that I was fully restrained.

• The cuffs are comfortable. They don’t dig into the skin, chafe or hurt. I struggled and pulled against these for nearly an hour, and was not left with any difficult to explain marks on my ankles or wrists. This is a huge plus.

• I was unable to escape. I struggled a lot, just to fully test it out for this review, naturally, and while I think it may be possible to escape if you haven’t tightened the straps properly, we had tightened up the straps and therefore I wasn’t able to get out.

• This can fit any sized bed. I have only used this on a full sized bed, but it is big enough to be used also with queen or king sized beds. The straps are all adjustable and very easy to loosen mid-session incase you need to quickly cool things back down, and the cuffs are easily unclasped with the leash style metal clasps.

• They will not damage your bed, or your sheets. I’m just a tad anal about my sheets, and buy nice sheets that I don’t want to rip or tear, so this was a big plus also.

• You can hide these really easily. Tuck ‘em between the mattresses and make the bed, and no one is the wiser. There is a bit of set up involved with this set, what with needing to lift the mattress or stubbornly tug the straps under and dance around the bed like I did, so you won’t want to do it nightly. Once it’s in place, just hide the straps under the corners of the bed until the mood to tie up and torment your honey strikes you.

I want to conclude by saying that this could easily be the only restraint kit you need. With a little creativity, you can come up with all kinds of fun ways to use this. You can simply connect two of the cuffs together without the straps and create handcuffs, or ankle cuffs. Or place your partner face down and use the straps for their ankles, and cuff their hands behind their back with just the cuffs. There are a lot of ways that you can use this kit, and the simplicity of the design really allows creativity to run wild here. If you’re a beginner looking for something sturdy, secure and not terribly easily escapable, consider trying this kit. This would also be good for someone who has tried other cuffs and things and is looking for something comfortable and easy to use, store and pack. These straps pack up small, and could be tossed in the bottom of a suitcase or Toybox XL. These get a mega approval from me, because these enabled me to finally live out a long un-acted-upon fantasy of mine of being restrained and tormented.
