This is the first review that I’ll be doing for SexToy.com, and while this isn’t strictly reviewing any Sex Toys, I hope you won’t hold that against me. Next Door Girls is an Adult DVD in two parts, the first scene features Giselle and Patience getting it on in a sun-filled room, and the second features Phoenix and Chloe doing the same on a bed. There are no silly plots, just girls going at it.

My initial reaction to this film was this: Wow. With a capital W. I loved this film. Most importantly for me, it’s very sex positive. You can tell the girls are having fun, no one is being exploited, and they’re really into each other. There’s bonus footage where the girls talk about their scenes, and each other, and their experiences with filming. In this footage, there’s lots of laughter, which I really like. Porn should always go hand in hand with laughter. It feels more honest and real. Plus, it’s sexy as hell.

• Scene 1: Giselle and Patience

To be completely honest, I preferred this first scene, with the girls featured on the cover, Patience and Giselle. Patience is the one on the right, in case you were curious. I like this scene better because these two were just really, really into each other. You can just tell when two people are genuinely into each other. I mistakenly thought they were a real life couple, and also thought that this was not their first time together. I was wrong, as it turns out this scene was the result of an inter-office flirtation of sorts, which does explain the very obvious heat between them.

While I do like my fair share of strap-on porn, this was delightfully void of it. These girls use their hands, mouths, and their pussies to pleasure each other. Yes, that’s what I said. There is tribbing in this scene! For those in the know, you’re aware how hot this can be. For those who aren’t, it’s also known as scissoring, which is vulva to vulva sex with legs intertwined. Major bonus points for this.

One thing I really liked about this scene was this one particularly impressive orgasm Giselle had while Patience was going down on her, which was reportedly quite messy. Patience sits up and comments in her cute Australian accent, “That was massive.” Oh, yes, did I mention these girls are all Australian? Apparently all the Abby Winters girls are Australian. Their accents are all just utterly delicious.

• Scene 2: Phoenix and Chloe

The second scene was also good and very hot, but it was obvious they weren’t quite as into each other as Giselle and Patience were. My own personal preferences may color my judgment here however, as one of the girls in the second scene had a high pitched sorority girl type voice and she sort of got on my nerves at times. At other times, the Australianness of her won me over and I found her charming. They were also both pretty femme, which isn’t necessarily a turn-off for me, but not as much of a turn-on as when a butchy-er woman is involved (or even two, but alas this is not to be had here).

In spite of this, the girls were sexy, and while they weren’t as intensely into it as the first two gals, they were into the scene and obviously aroused and enjoying themselves, and you could tell that from the action. None of these girls are very large physically, these two and the two from the first scene are all average or slender. No problems with it, but it’s worthy of note, because some may prefer larger girls. Now, if we’re talking larger breasted girls, Chloe is where it’s at. I’ve got to say, her breasts are really fantastic. (However, the less endowed gals are gorgeous as well. I’m not picky.)

What I really liked about this scene was that these two girls were really exploratory, and they would occasionally tell the other what they liked, what got them off, and also took the time to delight in each others bodies. It was really lovely to watch that aspect unfold.

• In the end

I definitely recommend this video. It’s worth buying even if you only think you’ll like the first scene. Yes, that scene is that good. However, I also recommend buying any Abby Winters video. I looked around on their website, as well, to find out more about the company. They’ve won awards at least three years in a row, in 2006 for the Best Adult Website, and in 2007 again, and then in 2008 for AVN Best Amateur Series “Intimate Moments.” The site even has member reviews of its own, and all of them are fantastic. Additionally, the filming quality is excellent. High quality images, excellent sound, it’s all very top notch.

This isn’t technically a part of the review, but I did want to mention it. When I saw that SexToy.com had videos and books, I decided that I wanted to review some of these. Not just for myself, but because these are some daunting purchases to make. I still find myself in Barnes and Noble occasionally feeling shy about looking at the sex books if someone is around to see me. And at the porn shop? I put on a brave face, but all of those endless displays of bleached blond women with fake nails and fake tits in lewd poses are really off putting. I had no idea where to start, and believe me, I wanted to!

So, I hope to be able to continue reviewing porn films for TLL (that’s up to SexToy.com and what they send me each month). Not just for you, but for me as well. While I know there may be plenty of folks out there well and truly comfortable with the whole porn gig, I have not been one of them. I hope that in reviewing a few porn films here and there I can help to make the jump less intimidating for others who may secretly be yearning to get one but don’t know where to start either, or who may think it’s too dirty to do so. I haven’t got the power to break down that taboo on my own, but I’d like to show you that normal people enjoy porn and that there is good quality, sex positive porn out there if you look hard enough.
