The L-Word What I Think Season 6 Episode 3 (Spoiler)

The L Word

Season 6 – FINAL SEASON
Episode 3: “LMFAO”
This was probably one of my favorite episodes of the whole series. Surprisingly enough, it’s NOT because of the sex scenes (there is no Carmen after all…..) I have never seen Bette laugh so much EVER! She has the most beautiful smile and such a great laugh! She should REALLY smile more often J She always has such a pouty face on, it was really refreshing to see her laugh so hard and so often. But I do see how the writers are implicating each and every person on the show, having them say “Jenny, I’m going to kill you.” Seems a little cheesy to me….but it’s only the 3rd episode. LOTS can happen in 5 episodes. Honestly, I don’t even see any on the main characters actually KILLING Jenny…that seems a little far fetched to me. Maybe it was an accident or something like that, wonder what kind of twist we have in store for us…
Lets focus on the movie negative that seems to be missing. Apparently Jenny and myself are the only people who think of Adele first. Why would that asshole Aaron think of Jenny first. She has put her heart and soul in that movie….GOD he is an asshole! And to put it all on Tina is ridiculous! Nobody can see that Tina is being set up? The forged signature, Adele running her off the set last season, then completely MIA this season so far… Tina is SO getting set up. But Aaron is too ignorant to see that.
Shane….Jenny….Shenny. Do I like them, do I hate them…. I don’t like that they are ‘lying to their friends’. Yeah, as IF they don’t realize that everyone is onto them. Come on! As soon as they are around any of their friends, they just laugh and avert their eyes….it’s HILARIOUS!! Alice’s face when she puts 2 and 2 together, priceless! Her reaction in general is so fucking funny! But honestly, how do they think they are going to hide this kinda thing? Arriving a few minutes apart, going to the ‘bathroom’ or ‘take a walk’ at the same time….come ON! If I had to pick which text message reaction was my favorite, I’d have to say it’s a tie between Bette laughing out loud in the meeting, and Helena falling off the treadmill and jumping up and down in disgust when Shane says Jenny is a good kisser, I am STILL laughing about it. LOL!!!! Then Jenny saying “I would appreciate it if you didn’t mention this”, LMFAO!! Shane can deny that they are a couple…..but you KNOW they are already lost in coupledom. The look on all the girls faces when they looked up in the balcony at HIT and saw Jenny and Shane kissing is priceless. They are all so disgusted by it, it makes me laugh so hard. I have never seen all the girls laughing so hard at something. HUGE change from how much tension was in the air from the first two episodes. I mean they were all split up at two different tables and EVERYTHING. Now everyone is pals again, they can all laugh at Shenny together. Everyone is all like “oh shit, oh, oh no, shit, shit…” when they catch Shenny kissing or petting each other, LOL!!! At the end of the show, when Bette can’t stop laughing, she keeps covering her face…it had me laughing so hard. It really was a GREAT part.
Oh, and how about that meeting with Jenny & Alice? WTF is up with Jenny? As if Jenny is the messiah of all screenplays and movies….ugh, gimme a break. Remember her color coordinated post-its?! What a nightmare. She can be so arrogant, that movie made her head HUGE. She says Alice should do cartoon voice-overs. Jenny is such a flake, it’s so annoying. I am intrigued on where this treatment is going though. The writers of the show are making a point to have us notice that Alice is writing something, something that is stepping on Jenny’s toes. But reminding us that Jenny is writing something as well….we just don’t know what that is yet. Could it have something to do with her death??
My thought on the whole Bette/Jodi fiasco is; Jodi is obviously still feeling some typa way towards Bette. Although I am SO over Jodi, I have to give credit where credit it due, she IS looking pretty good in this season. One thing that Jodi does that bothered me in this particular episode, she brought Tom with her to ‘sign for her’. But all that does, is make it so she doesn’t have to look at Bette while she talks, which I think is RUDE and immature. She gets on my damned nerves. It sucks that now Bette is loosing HER job because of this whole thing. Technically, it IS dyke drama….but I can see where Bette is coming from. Jodi is out to ruin her…and she will if she gets the chance. Just like the sexual harassment suit she claims she had never even thought of. The whole Phyllis loving Bette is a bit weird. I can’t believe she didn’t tell Bette that Nadia filed a complaint. (who in their right MIND would file a complaint about BETTE?!?!) I also can’t believe Phyllis confessed her love for Bette, meanwhile Bette is oblivious to it. Too funny. Her face when she finally understands that it is HER that Phyllis is talking about. Then she starts laughing, “Phyllis, don’t, JOYCE, WHAT ABOUT JOYCE!” LOL! Bette says “you just fired me” and Phyllis says “ I know, and it might be the best thing that’s ever happened to us”. Can you say SEXUAL HARRASSMENT?!? Like that awkward lean in for a kiss….what the hell is Phyllis thinking?!? Bette is in a relationship, she has kids, they are trying for another! Why are you trying to screw that up Phyllis?!
I think the most controversial part of this episode is when Alice read that letter out loud, on LIVE TV! The straight world has NO IDEA what it is like to be gay. And for some reason, when a person (a gay person usually) points out the injustice, all straight people get uncomfortable. Alice is going to loose her job over this, and that is SO SHITTY!!!! But she’s right, people actually heard the truth whether they liked it or not. It is true, the love letter to Marcus that pushed him to the point of shooting someone in the face, that sort of thing happens EVERY DAY, but the LGBT community is too taboo to get mentioned in the ‘regular’ newspapers. I really respect Alice for doing this on live TV. The two girls she was sitting next to were so uncomfortable, it was hilarious. And Alice had no clue she even stepped out of line. CAUSE SHE DIDN’T! But Tasha is right, you don’t always get rewarded for doing the right thing. Alice hit the nail on the head, Homophobia IS live and well, and it CAN be deadly! I just hope that Alice stands up for herself, and doesn’t back down. The thing with the girl on the ledge, I think was a little out of left field… but I think it was just enough to remind Alice WHY she did what she did and reinforce the fact that people need someone or something to believe in. I was a little put off by Tasha not having any faith in Alice’s ability to handle a crisis. Alice DID handle the situation well, and got that girl off the ledge. Made me smile when Tasha complimented her on how well she did and that she is proud of her, and proud to be her girlfriend. I still love Tasha and Alice together. When Alice needs a push, Tasha is there….and when Tasha need a push, Alice is there. They make a good team, even if they ARE opposites.
Helena & Dillon….not sure where that will be going. Dillon sends Helena flowers, and Helena denies them…..but there is a little look on her face when she is trying to decide what to do with them. And the next moment, she grabs a flower and walks up to a little blonde and turns on her magic. (Helena IS very sexy) But I think I sense a little something between her and Kit. But just when I think I am onto something, Kit starts flirting with the Drag Queen…so I’m not sure what the story is here. Maybe the Drag Queen is crushing on Kit. I see that the Hit Club is quite a success. (I wish I had a place like that by my house, a place where I know the owners and all, that would be SO much fun!) Just not sure what the story line is here, there has to be something building.
This episode didn’t have much about Max & Tom. I am curious to see how that will play out. As usual, Max’s drama is like a side note, not really emphasized too much. But it still has me interested, the whole ‘pregnant man/woman’. How will he deal with his femininity RIGHT IN HIS FACE like that…. How about the rest of the group, what do they think? How will they react? Will Bette & Tina adopt Max’s baby? So many questions….and 6 more days to wait for more L WORD!!
Only 5 more episodes left…
CHEERS!!
