The L-Word What I Think Season 6 Episode 5 (Spoiler)
Season 6 – FINAL SEASON
Episode 5: “Litmus Test”
Jenny never fails to remind you how nasty she can be, nor how crazy. You know, I had a feeling she was going to do something about that treatment she was writing. I couldn’t put my finger on what it was about it, maybe because we didn’t get a good idea about what exactly it WAS she was writing about…not sure. But I still can’t believe she just outright stole that idea from Alice! I can believe it because she is Jenny, but who DOES that?? Then to get half a damned million dollars for it…UNBELIEVEABLE! Poor Alice! But you notice how it was Alice this time that said “Jenny is so fucking dead!” So who do we have now; Alice, Niki, Tina, . Jenny has the balls to stand there and Alice’s story a ‘jumble of ideas’. But the line she says “The Idea
Well. There is a Well, all of the writers drink from the same fountain…” LOL, that was so flakey and typical Jenny, it was too much. Alice looses her damned mind, and rightfully so. I would have been tempted to knock Jenny’s block off. She is convinced that Alice is acting like a child, that she didn’t steal her idea, they are friends, blah blah blah. Go Alice for clarifying that they may have the same friends, but that doesn’t mean they ARE friends. Friends do NOT steal each others ideas and get a half a million dollars for it and not share the money or give credit where it is due!!!! That’s what kills me. Jenny is going to get all this money and credit for that script, and yet she can’t just split some with Alice, even when she knows that was Alice’s basic story. Maybe Jenny embellished it a little, added a little flavor and depth, but the basis of the story was Alice’s.
I seriously think that Shane is already over her whole Jenny phase. Who forbids someone to see someone else. T
hat is just crazy…wait, I forgot for a moment who were talking about, Jenny, that’s right. So crazy is a norm. Shane’s face was probably exactly how my face would look if my partner told me she ‘forbade’ me to see someone. But Jenny saying that it was Niki that betrayed them….excuse me, I believe it was SHANE who did the betraying. NOT Niki, I mean, Niki was at fault of course….but it was Shane who was the most ‘involved’. But Jenny knows how Shane is, and even so, she is smothering the shit out of her. You can see it in Shane’s face. They have the weirdest relationship, they really do. With Jenny apologizing after freaking out….just to go to HIT later and freak out anyways. Just on a side note, is it me, or is Shane looking like shit right now? I have seen her looking VERY hot…think back to the Carmen days… The real short hair, you could still see her eyes and her face, the glasses, the ties she wore. She was looking VERY fine and put together. But right now her hair is all shaggy, her makeup is a mess. She is a hairdresser! She needs to give herself a little trim here and there, jeez! Sorry, a little off track there…. So now Jenny is going through Shane’s phone, checking to see where
she is going, where she’s been, asking her to not leave even for 5 mins. Mark my words, this relationship is as good as over. Shane is done, she even said, if she had to choose between the friendship and the relationship….the friendship would win. Jenny is driving her crazy already, and it’s only been like 2 weeks or something. Some people are just meant to be friends, not meant to take it to that next level.
This whole thing with
Jamie/Alice/Tasha. This is making me so mad, third wheel crush bullshit. I think Tasha and Alice haven’t even a clue what is going on. They are my favorite couple, they are the last ones that aren’t ruined or tainted from something in the past. They have GOT to relax with all the text messages, the close dancing, the almost lip touching….it’s JUST NOT RIGHT! They still have a future, they still have hope. They need to get rid of this Jamie Ms. Third Wheel Crush person….and quick!
LOL, the Dylan test….LOL, that whole thing had me laughing. Helena has guts to tell her girls about her dinner with Dylan. Alice’s reaction to the news is priceless, “Are you on CRACK?!” I can’t tell ya how many times I have said that same thing. (Alice is so relatable, her and Tasha) The girls definitely had the right idea about setting Dylan up. But you KNOW it’s going to backfire. Regardless of the backfire, the idea was genius. The way the whole thing hatched and took form, only took like 5 minutes of discussion, but what surprised me was how into it Bette & Tina were. I expect this kinda thing from Alice, but certainly not Bette or Tina, let alone both. But I liked the idea from the start. I don’t trust Dylan at ALL. Helena is still wrapped up in her, and the weird part is, I don’t even think she knew it until Dylan showed up on the scene. Sending Niki to do the seducing part of the test was very smart. She is a natural at acting/getting what she wants by using her cute self as bait. And it worked, almost. The funny part was Shane had Niki’s timing DOWN. Well she should, I think she invented it. Jenny on the phone with Dylan acting as Niki’s manager was hilarious. She is just so flakey, that’s the best I can do to describe her. “Niki is hot hot hot, turbo hot, she is so hot I’m having hot flashes”, LOL, who says that? Another classic moment, when Helena was getting off the phone with Dylan, and Alice was on the other phone listening in….how many times have you done that when you were younger, LOL. I think the funniest part of the whole test was when they are all in the video/s
ecurity room, they are all watching as Niki makes her way over to Dylan, and fucking Alice and Kit pull out popcorn, LOL!!! I really honestly thought Dylan was going to give into Niki there for a moment, she was looking VERY persuasive…I was feeling beginning to feel bad for Helena. Through the whole beginning of the episode, Helena has seemed undecided on whether or not she likes this whole idea of setting Dylan up (or even meeting Dylan for dinner for that matter). I think it may have been for two reasons; 1. Because she was afraid that Dylan would give into Niki and let her down and she would be disappointed and heartbroken all over again, or 2. She was afraid Dylan WOULDN’T give into Niki. In the second option, if Dylan turns Niki down, that means that Dylan might actually be honest with her professed love. Which would of course mean now there is a chance for them to get together, which puts Helena in a very vulnerable position. In my point of view, I think it would have been easier to handle if Dylan DID get with Niki for the money and the ‘status’. At least then she would be clear on Dylan’s intentions and could avoid another major issue. BUT, like a good girl, Dylan turned Niki down. Helena is going to have to figure out for herself if Dylan is worth being with. I’m still not sure if I trust her completely, but that was defiantly a point in her favor. And about that sex scene…..holy shit. If you can remember, the sex scene in season 3 was intense, so it is no surprise to me that it was so erotic and sexy and sensual….at the same time it was suspenseful and nerve racking. I was so NERVOUS! Rachel Shelly is straight in real life, but judging from her performance with Dyl
an, I would think she is as queer as a $3 bill. The legs up by hear head, the moans, jeez. But her perfectly placed hesitations, and her facial expressions, unbelievable acting. I was right there where she was, I could feel what she was feeling. She was TERRIFIED! And who could blame her. It’s like the P!nk song; “Go away, come back…go away, come back”. Probably the most intense love scene so far this season. I was holding my breath (and other things….) through the whole scene. I almost cried when Helena cried. I hope she knows what she is doing….cause I sure as hell don’t. I’d be running the other way, away from that one. Dylan has cause just too much trouble in the past…it’s VERY hard to trust her this time around.
Tina surprised the hell out of me. I think the whole dinner with Kelly was atrocious. There’s another girl I would have bitch slapped! “…now she is taken by the lovely Tina K
ennard, but, you never know…” Ugh, SMACK! What do you mean ‘you never know’, what part about that do you ‘never know’?! Tina gives her the evil eye over a glass of water. She is obviously trying to move in on Bette and isn’t trying to hide it, calls her The One That Got Away, and even asks if Tina is uncomfortable with her ‘flirt shamelessly’. But I DO love Tina’s response to that one, it goes completely over Kelly’s head, LOL, idiot! And still Tina keeps a calm head about
her…that is, until the screen writers walk in that is. Not sure what prompted Bette to get up and confront Aaron (or William or who ever the fuck that rat bastard is) like that, but it was worth it. I LOVE angry Bette. I just can’t believe that guy said, out loud; “I’m so glad to be done with dykes”. OMG!!! HOLY SHIT!!! I think my head would have exploded. Much like Tina’s did. I think Tina would have just let well enough alone and walked away with her dignity, but that comment….that comment made her burst with everything she
had been holding in for so long. All the shit about setting her up with that note, the changed ending, the missing negative, everything, BOOM! All came out at once. It was nice. SO different from the Tina in the first early seasons. It’s amazing how different and how much more self confidence Tina has now.
I can’t believe we are already more than half way through the last and final season. How heartbreaking is that. I still can’t believe we only get 8 fuckin episodes…who’s bright idea was that one? Every other season has at least 13 episodes….the final has 8. Go figure.
Only 3 more episodes left…
CHEERS!!
