When I saw Climax Bursts Anal Lube over at Vibe Review, I thought the same thing. “Anal” and “burst” are not two words you wanna see in the same sentence. I had heard such good things about the Climax Bursts brand, though, that I had to give this a try. Climax Bursts Anal Lube is a waterbased lube with little beads of Vitamin-E that burst on skin contact. I found that this felt a little grainy at first… like, it felt like granules of something. I didn’t notice or feel them “bursting,” but I did notice that the grainyness went away and the lube stayed slick far longer than other waterbased lubes that I use with silicone butt toys (because you must always use only waterbased lubes with silicone toys, or else your toys will begin to break down).
I really like the bottle this lube comes in. The top pops up, a bit like the top on a detergent bottle, but as you can see this top is rounder and more badass. It’s easy to squeeze out, and it’s thick, rather than watery like most water based lubes I’ve encountered, so it stays where you put it.
The true test of it is that it made anal play enjoyable. I like the idea of anal play, but often times the actuality of it has been unpleasant, or painful, or without sufficient lube. Those days are over. Whether you want to use a plug solo, or a dildo for anal sex with a partner, this lube is going to turn the experience from “endurable” to “enjoyable.” I recommend this lube for anal over silicone lubes, which could be used with a toy that is made of metal, glass, urethane or hard plastic, but which is not as effective or pleasurable as Climax Bursts.
