Episode 7: “Last Couple Standing”

My first thought, upon realizing this was going to be a ‘dancey type’ episode….I would have bet money that the writers would have Jennifer Beals pull out some classic Flashdance moves… or at least the leggings, can I get some water action please J That being said, I liked this episode. It didn’t have quite the vibe of a regular episode, but then again…L Word is about done. So why not have a dance-off…fuck it, what do they have to loose? The concept of a dance off was cute, and a great way to raise money. I wish there was one by my house….it would be so much fun!

Alice with the long hair and the Austin Powers outfit, how fuckin cute was she?! All her outfits were adorable (even the Salt & Peppa outfit) I just wanted to eat her up! She looks good with long hair. She was too funny, trying to psyche Bette out, and Bette was all like “wouldn’t you like to know?” LOL! Alice is taking this dance competition VERY seriously. It was very foreshadowy when she was sitting at the make-up mirror, talking about how having Marcy (the birth mom) move in would just be a problem after problem after problem. Sometimes Alice is on the nose about stuff, but she says them in jest, or in passing and she ends up being SO RIGHT! I really loved her speech she made….I thought it was touching. It feels amazing for someone to thank you for coming into their life. As far as the 3-some thing…I think it’s a little crazy that it took this long for Alice to catch on that Jamie has the hots for Tasha. I think she should have been a little more aware of that an episode or two or five ago. But their dance routine was awesome. They all could dance a bit, they were well put together, it was awesome, down to the wigs. VERY entertaining. But in all seriousness, I think Alice handled the Jamie situation very mature, and not psycho lesbian. She just straight up asked Jamie if she had feelings for Tasha…and she got her answer. Then to be the last couple standing, all exhausted, clinging to each other…to tell Tasha she just wants her to be happy. And Tasha says she isn’t ready to let her go yet, I was tearing up a bit. It was a touching moment. I’ve said it before, I’ll say it again, they are the couple to beat. They are untainted, strong, and dedicated to each other. As much as I love Tibet, I got a soft spot for Tasha and Alice. They are amazing.

So who seriously doesn’t want to kill Jenny by now? Ugh, trying to talk to Bette about cheating and this and that. There is something about the way she stuttered in the beginning “can I, can, can, c–, c–. I would like to talk to you privately please”. I have no patience for her. I was SO proud of Bette for not cheating (as I think we all were). And to have Jenny take this so serious, as if she gives a flyin fuck about Bette and Tina’s relationship. She just likes to cause drama. God forbid someone else be happier than she is, she just MUST ruin it. I probably would have acted like Bette did (at first) and just laughed it off. I mean, it IS preposterous, since it NEVER HAPPENED!! Nothing like explaining yourself when you don’t have to… but actions speak louder than words. And Bette was looking MIGHTY guilty for someone who didn’t do anything. That’s the part that gets me….she knows she didn’t do anything wrong, so why the guilty looks, and why didn’t she say anything to Tina about it right then and there. It sucks that she cheated before, and how she is labeled ‘the Cheater’, but if you KNOW you get that label, why not clear the air before it even gets smoky? That’s the part I don’t get, JUST TELL HER!! Stop pussy-footing around! TELL HER! Unless…..you are feeling guilty about WANTING Kelly. Which I can understand, but if you have nothing to hide, why act shady? Doesn’t make sense. So of course Jenny hones right in on that, cause she THRIVES on that kind of behavior. Now don’t get me wrong, every show needs a ‘Jenny’, and Mia Kirshner plays her spot on. This show wouldn’t be what it is if there wasn’t a Jenny to cause havoc every other episode. Jenny apologizes to Helena, Helena blows her off. Then Alice says something that I think everyone is thinking, That Jenny is certifiably crazy. Tina would do good to keep that in mind. I do have to give credit, Jenny looks SMOKIN on stage in that dress. Maybe not the dress, but her style and hair…Mia is gorgeous! Sometimes that gets lost in Crazy Jenny Land, but Jenny is a cutie. Shane was looking like she would rather be anywhere but there. And the girl cannot ballroom dance to save her life…LOL, she was so awkward.

Even though this Jenny seeing what she thought she saw, I think Bette and Tina will come out of this mess intact. I think it’s a great thing to move to NY…the only thing is…I’m an east coast girl…and for the LIFE of me I can’t understand why ANYONE would choose to live in NY instead of LA. They have obviously never walked the streets with -7° wind chills, in snow up to their knees. Forget about those cute outfits they wear, they will freeze their little butts off. I mean, think about it…California or New York. Doesn’t take a genius to figure that one out. The job thing helps a bit, but I am thinking Bette is all about the move because then she can leave Jenny, Kelly, Jodi, and all that mess behind and start fresh, in a new town. Which I completely understand, I just don’t think I would pick NY to make that fresh start…I’d be thinking maybe Florida or somewhere WARM! Also, about the girl that was to move in, I had a funny feeling about that from the door. Can’t quite put my finger on it. I was a bit heart broken when Marcy didn’t get off that bus. I had a bad feeling about it, but I just didn’t want it to be true. I wanted things to work out for them. The heartbrokenness on their faces, ugh, it was tugging on my heart a little. They were so let down, neither had anything to say at all. It was just sad.

Anyhow, so Bette volunteers herself and Tina to donate some money (only because it looked like Jenny was on her way over to them), so they get on stage and donate $1,500, HOLY SHIT! Who has that kinda money to just, on a whim, donate. I mean, if my partner and I had that kinda cash, I would be donating too….but there would be a can of whoop ass opened on me when we got home. She could KILL me to not talking to her about that before hand. That is a huge amount of money to just throw out there like that! Tina’s face was priceless! LOL So they start dancing, and Bette notices that Jodi is there….awkward. Call me an asshole, but was anyone else wondering how Jodi can hold a beat, she is DEAF!!! HELLO! (I saw her on Dancing with the Stars and she was horrible – PS) Also, was it a surprise to anyone that Kelly is running her mouth to everyone that she slept with Bette? And of course Jodi is going to believe her, since she thinks Bette is the most evil person ever. She is just your ex-girlfriend, Get Over It! Best Bette line of the episode, “Hey Al, nice camel toe.” I though I would die laughing, Bette is so sexy when she is competitive. And as far as the dance competition was concerned, I think Bette and Tina won HANDS DOWN! I thought they were amazing. My partner and I actually clapped for them when they were done. They were just so sexy together. There is no way Jodi and her partner were better than them. They were so stiff. I mean sure, Jodi looked amazing….but I think she was horrible. CERTAINLY not worthy of a perfect 30 score. Her dance partner just stood there, Jodi did all the work. I was disappointed.

Was it me, or was Jackie Brown in the HOUSE!! Kit looks awesome with the afro, it totally reminded me of Jackie Brown. I am SO proud that Sunset Boulevard came out as who he really is. Kit and him will make an awesome couple. They can share dresses and make up, but she still gets the manly parts she so desperately needs. They are a perfect match. Kit just needs to get over the initial shock of realizing he was a real he the whole time. As soon as she realizes Sunset is the girlfriend and the boyfriend she never had, all rolled up in one….the better off she will be. Cause he REALLY likes her…he thinks the WORLD of her. And she needs a bit of that right now. Everyone else has a love interest going…it’s about time for hers. It also does hurt that he is a handsome devil that one is. Who would have thought?!

GO DYLAN!!!! I am SO happy she showed up. You can tell by Helena’s reaction she is still terrified of her. And seriously, who can blame her? But she does seem happy, like a 14 year old girl, all giddy. I’m glad they decided to put the past behind them and start over again. I hope to GOD Dylan doesn’t break her heart anymore than she already has. And I have a huge amount of respect for Dylan, telling Helena not to apologize. Cause she knows she fucked up first, and she fucked up a lot worse too.

LOL, I have to talk about the last Crazy Jenny stunt. The whole thing with Princess Niki, and Shane. I was getting the feeling something would happen with Shane and Niki when Niki first arrived. She was just blatantly all up on Shane. Then the next thing you know, they are fucking in the bathroom. And as hot as that was, it pissed me off. Shane and Niki got what they deserved. LOL!! Leave it to Jenny to “Buy” Niki for Shane so they don’t have to continue fucking in the bathroom. I almost fell off my chair. THAT is the part of Jenny that keeps me guessing, who is she? And how did she know they were fucking the bathroom? Jenny set that whole thing up, first by telling Niki to auction herself for a date ‘for the cause’, she appeals to Niki’s vanity. So Niki is up on stage, auctioning herself off, and Jenny calmly stands in the front and observes. Then BANG, buys her for $25,000!!!! HOLY SHIT JENNY!! Then Jenny gets up on stage, and makes that speech-let me sum it up a little. “Shane, you don’t have to fuck her in the bathroom anymore, you don’t have to sneak around. I don’t want you to do that, so I bought her for you. So you can have her, whenever you want.” I was speechless, I just didn’t know what to say and apparently neither did Shane, from the look on her face. My eyes were bug-eyed a bit. Niki and Shane bought that hook line and sinker. I just can’t figure out if Jenny is pissed or not. The girl sure does know how to make a statement. Jeez! Sometimes it is so hard to real her emotions. The bitch is just crazy! Who does that?!?!

Only 1 more episode left!!! Don’t cry yet ladies…not yet. Hold out for just one more week….
