Hot:

I was recently contacted by Desiree, the Caretaker and Film/Video Archivette over at The Lesbian Herstory Archives. Not being aware of the site I had to check it out. Could there be a lesbian website out there that I’m unaware of? True story! About an hour later I’m here to tell you that I am in awe. The Lesbian Herstory Archives is truly a vault of all things lesbian. It is a physical museum and a website that allows you to see how far we as women, as lesbians, have come. I encourage all of you to check out the site and donate what you can to keep this amazing collection of lesbian Herstory alive and well.

The Lesbian Herstory Archives is the oldest and largest institution of its kind. We are an all-volunteer run, collectively managed organization that receives no Federal, State or Local government funding.   We collect, preserve and document the lives and contributions of all lesbians from all backgrounds and walks of life.  Our collection is demographically diverse and international in scope.   We provide programming, research assistance, traveling exhibits and on/off-site presentations about lesbian history and culture.  We are staffed at least 4 weekdays days each week  and several weekend days for researcher visits or browsing.

Recent Women’s History Month Activities Have Included:

* “Fierce Pussy Artist Collective” opening reception on Sunday, March 15th, 5-7pm
* Seneca Peace Encampment documentary screening – Friday, March 20th, 7-9pm
* The Archives Women’s History Month Presentations team will travel throughout New York City all month long.

This year, LHA celebrates its 35th Anniversary and we’re honoring this milestone by producing fund raising and outreach events all year to secure the future of The Archives, raise awareness about our organization, generate revenue for our ongoing programs and increase our endowment fund.
