TLL Adult Review: Onye
| Hot: |
Sex Toys carries a lot of wonderful toys and vibrators, and the Onye is one of them. Onye is made by Big Teaze Toys, the same folks that bring you the I Rub My Duckie (and Fishie, and Penguin, and Wormie…) vibe. The Onye is part of it’s B3 line, which is swankier than the duckies and fishies are. It comes in a really pretty box lined in coordinating satin. The black (like mine) has a black box with purple satin, the white comes in a white box with pink satin. This is good for storing it, or for presenting it as a gift, if you’re feeling naughty and generous.
I said in an earlier post that I’m on a quest to find the perfect clitoral vibrator that can be held, butt of the vibe in the palm of my hand in such a manner that the toy does not change settings while being held, or come open spilling the batteries everywhere, or somehow fail epically. The Onye fits the bill. While the control button is on the butt end where it would be pressing into my palm, the button doesn’t depress so easily that using it as I like to use them causes it to change settings at inoppurtune times. It’s also solid. Pop the batteries in (3 AAA) and twist it shut, and you’ve got one solidly built pill-shaped vibe. It’s splash proof and made of hard plastic with a silicone “grip” part, and stainless steel trim. Splash proof means you could feasibly shower with it (I don’t think I’d risk it with mine, though), and that you’re safe cleaning it with soap and water without needing to worry about hurting it in the process, but don’t dunk it into a sink full of water. It’s worth noting that after I washed mine like this and unscrewed the two halves again, there was some dampness on the rim (not inside the battery compartment, however), so after you clean it, open it up and be sure to dry the edges with a paper towel so that nothing gets damaged.
There is one button. This one button controls it all. Press once for solid continuous vibe, second is higher speed, third is higher than that. Four begins the pulse settings, and it’s kind of whiRRRRRRRwhiRRRR. Five is WHirWHirWHir. Six is RR-RR-RR-RR. Seven is R-R-R-R-RRRR. Eight is R-R-R-R-R-R-R. Nine is off again. So helpful, I know. It’s hard to describe, but they really are fantastic pulse settings. If you want to go right from a particular setting to the “off” position, just press the button and hold it until the toy turns off (about two seconds). These are STRONG vibrations. Stronger than the LELO toys I’ve tried, stronger than some of the vibes I have in the queue to be reviewed in the near future.
My partner said it sounded like a motor boat or a submarine or something. So, yeah, that means it’s kinda loud. It doesn’t annoy me during use, but it’s gonna be audible if you’re in the same room, and I don’t know about how well it can/cannot be heard through walls. This isn’t the best toy for college folks with roommates who need something ultra-silent. For that, you’ll want something by LELO, which is far quieter and still bangin’. I sometimes have situations where I don’t want to risk being heard with the Onye due to sound issues and thin walls, but it’s worth it to have it for when you are alone. The vibrations are really strong, and I like the way the smooth plastic transfers those vibrations. It feels fantastic moving it in long strokes along my inner labia when I’m working myself up (or when someone else is). It packs a punch and has a wide range of vibration from very light to considerably strong, and along with being a good shape, I’m really sold on it.
I think you will be too!
