In my case, my girlfriend and I decided that WE were going to create the community we were looking for. We started Be Yr Own Queero and started holding events. We would all gather at our friends house to watch the L word and we just made it open to anyone who wanted to come. Some nights there were close to 30 people. We also had weekly potlucks before watching the L word. We have found friends in our local P-FLAG chapter (www.pflag.org) and we also found soome social groups on YahooGroups including one that meets once a month. If you don't see any, condiser starting your own. Try recruiting members from MySpace friend searches or by putting ads to join your Yahoo group on places like Craigslist. Plan events where people can meet at a neutral place and socialize, such as a coffee house with a good conversational area that you can reserve or a park pavillion when the weather is warmer.
