TLL Adult Review: Laya Spot

tll-adult-review-laya-spot

tll-approvedThe Laya Spot from Vibe Review is a toy made by Fun Factory, like the Curve that I reviewed a little ways back. The Laya Spot is a vibrator, however. And it’s adorable. It’s available in a ton of color combos, such as black/silver, red/silver, pink/magenta, vanilla/violet and also raspberry/pistachio (like mine). I like ‘em funky, and the pink and green is adorable. I took some pictures of my Laya Spot because I was sort of astounded by how small it is. It’s not as small as LELO’s Lily, but is still quite small. Its use is simple: press and hold the plus button to increase vibrations, and then again to begin pulse settings. Minus decreases vibration, and turns it off.

Notes and Thoughts

img_2670It fits perfectly in my hand due to its unusual shape. I’m sure, if you read my reviews, you know I’m slightly obsessed with finding a vibrator that fits in my hand so that I can have my palm pressed to the base of the vibe to support/hold the vibrator against my clit. I LOVE this one for that. The Laya Spot and the Onye are two of the best vibrators for that purpose, but I daresay the Laya Spot does it better because of the curve and it having no buttons on the base part (the pink cap). The only way the Laya Spot isn’t as good would be strength of vibration, but the Laya Spot is quieter. So it’s a toss up based on preference. I didn’t find the Laya Spot to be lacking in strength by any means, though I know that some people need a lot more power.

Laya Spot takes 2 AAA batteries. I do wish it was rechargable, but it’s not the end of the world. I have a rechargable set of AAA batteries, which Fun Factory reccomends you do to cut down on battery waste. It’s also just a clit vibe, so you can’t do any insertion with it. I don’t mind this, but if you’re looking for a first and only toy and want it to be very multipurpose, this isn’t it. If you’re looking for a first and only toy, and you have no interest in insertion, this could be it.

img_2671Also, Laya Spot is not made from Silicone like some sites say, but rather Elastomer and hard plastic. Elastomer is slightly porous and cannot be disinfected, so you don’t wanna share this one. You can still clean it with soap and water, though. The bonus is that you can use silicone lube with it without destroying the toy. Just be careful. You don’t want to use silicone lube with this, get going and decide you wanna grab your Curve dildo and accidentally get silicone lube on it from contact with your lubed up vagina… just be aware of what you’re doing and how you’re using lube.

img_2673A friend of mine got this and had some trouble with the battery cap. If you put batteries in and it is on automatically and you cannot turn it off with the minus sign, this means you need to tinker with it. Fun Factory’s website has a FAQ that I don’t quite understand and that I couldn’t really explain to my friend, but she pressed buttons as she twisted the cap and something reset the microprocessor and it went back to normal. Just know these glitches occur, and that if you cannot fix it (if it’s broken for real) Vibe Review is really good about replacing items. My friend replaced her Laya Spot before we realized that this was her problem. Vibe Review really came through on that replacement, though!

This is a fantastic toy. I’d recommend it to people looking for something ergonomic and for clitoral stimulation only. This might not be the best first toy if you don’t yet know what you like. However, if you’re looking for a very well made, fun and funky clit vibe, the Laya Spot by Fun Factory might be for you! Head on over to Vibe Review and check it out!
