TLL Adult Review: Luna Beads
The Luna Beads from Vibe Review are another product made by LELO. The Luna Beads are not a sex toy persay, but rather a true sex aid. The aim is to use them to help tone your pelvic floor muscles. It’s a pretty cool idea and I had seen similar things out there, like Ben Wa balls and the like that supposedly did similar things, but they were all loose balls without a cord to use for removal, and that makes me nervous. The Luna Beads are plastic balls with smaller balls inside that roll around with motion (think: one chocolate egg candy rolling around in a plastic easter egg) to stimulate your vaginal muscles to contract, and the beads are connected and have a retrieval cord.
How do you use them?
They come with four balls, two each in two different weights. The pink is lighter than the blue, and you can use them in any combo. All pink, all blue, one of each, what have you. The general idea is to start light and work up to heavier. The balls are loose until you place them in their white silicone “girdle” to keep them together, and then you insert them to about the depth a tampon gets inserted, so that they’re “in” and the cord dangles out. Then you just go about your business. Or so you think.
What are they like inside?
A friend of mine said the sensations are reminiscent of being at the gyno and being poked and prodded. I disagree. They’re not unpleasant, just unusual. The inner balls move inside the beads as you move, so you sort of feel them rattling. They’re not loud, however, that I noticed. I found it a little distracting to go about housework, for example. I kept thinking about my vagina and feeling awkward. This did get less noticeable with use, as I grew accustomed to them, but they were still there and I was aware of the fact. I did not experience them randomly falling out embarrassingly, or getting lost (they cannot get lost, as things don’t escape into the uterus through the cervix… just in case you didn’t know), or anything like that.
One thing I noticed, and that I notice each time, is that I have some issues getting them in. They’re two beads attached by the white silicone girdle, as seen in the picture, and so after the first one is in I feel that I’m struggling to get the second one in, and then it seems that they don’t seat properly. If I use too much lube, then I feel that they move around a little too much. Another thing is that the retrieval cord is some kind of fabric type cord thing, and I’m not sure if it will pose a problem, so I have been washing it in very hot soapy water to be sure it gets really clean.
So what do they do?
The point of these are to tone your PC muscles. Usually, you hear that to do this you just stop your stream of pee over and over again, using the muscles, and this tones them. The Luna Beads purpose is to focus you on this task for the duration they’re in you, and they stimulate muscle activity so your body just naturally works the muscles without much conscious thought, therefore toning them more easily. I assume they’re doing their job, as I noticed that my vagina was more alert, in a sense. It’s hard to explain. It was hyper aware of things going on inside it, of slight nuances in stimulation, thrusting or g-spot action, etc. My vagina has sort of preferred either a girthy penetration, like a bigger dildo or something, or some nice solid g-spot stimulation. After using the Luna Beads for even just a few sessions, I noticed that smaller dildos had some of that “thrill” back, and that my vagina was really acutely aware of the shapes of them and how those shapes felt moving inside. So maybe that means tighter and more toned? Probably. The difference was noticeable, but not intensely earth shattering for me. I have not now nor before had significant trouble orgasming, so I don’t know if these make the difference between an orgasm and no orgasm for someone who does struggle, but I think that if you’re looking for something to firm up your pelvic floor muscles these would help you out. These are the same muscles that keep you from peeing when you sneeze, so toning them is always good! Overall, I reccomend this product, but it’s not an exciting sex toy. I did not orgasm from using them, but I’ll admit the first time using it I was weirdly excited and did have to go rub one out in order to regain my ability to function at other tasks. I am a little bit of a horn dog tho, so you may not have that problem.

haha I personally love these. Not only are they highly recommended for before and after childbirth, for stronger orgasms, and to prevent incontinence, they offer just enough stimulation to take them with you for a night out on the town. You’re partner is bound to enjoy how much more aroused you get while grinding on the dance floor
