TLL Adult Review: Wet Lubes

tll-approvedSex Toys now carries Wet Lubes! Wet doesn’t just make lubes, as I discovered, they also make massage oil and shaving cream. I separated these into groups, just to make the task a little less daunting and to make reading it a little more accessible. There’s something for everyone here, from silicone lubes to waterbased lubes to natural lubes, flavored lubes and massage oils. These are some really quality products, so read on and let this help you when you’re going to make your next (or first) lube purchase!

1961847Overall, I approve of these lubes. There are a few here and there that I don’t care for, and I’ll talk about them each in their own sections, however as a brand I’ve got to say that Wet is pretty awesome. They’ve got their regular line, and they’ve got their naturals line, and some pretty decent flavors. (I’m finicky about flavors, and you’ll see what I mean when you get there.) I do wish that all lubes would be glycerin free just because my vagina prefers it so, but other peoples’ vaginas do not care so much. Therefore, I approve of these lubricants. Read on, my friends.

Group One: The Body Glide Group

Wet Platinum Premium Body Glide

  • This shit’s the bomb. It’s silicone, so use it with toys that are glass, metal, or hard plastic, but NEVER with silicone toys, or risk ruining them. Also, condom compatible! However, you don’t need a lot of it and it really makes things slick. I used this with my Don Wands butt plug, and I daresay it worked better than the climax bursts anal lube for this purpose. They say it works underwater, which I must try, and also that you can use it to shine latex. Now I want latex.

Wet Original Gel Body Glide

  • Honestly? I don’t like this one. Waterbased, but it has glycerin, and it’s not really a gel. It’s gel like, but then it’s just kinda funny, and a bit sticky. I won’t even use this on my own body because of the glycerin and my trauma from the last glycerin run-in. I want no more vaginal sadness, thanks. Waterbased and toy compatible, but glycerin makes it non-vag compatible. Why even put glycerin in?

Group Two: The Non-Organic Flavors Group AKA “The Jolly Raunchers” Group

Wet Fun Flavors 4-in-1 Warming Massage Sugar Free Body Glide Watermelon Blast

  • I don’t know if this is waterbased or silicone based because neither is listed in the ingredients. But, this stuff is fantastic. This flavor inspired the term “Jolly Raunchers.” I loved using it going down, and thought it would be just as fab when used for going down on me. I was WRONG. My lady parts didn’t like the Watermelon Blast. Obviously, this won’t be a problem for all ladies, but note that sugar free should read “sugar free.” There’s glycerin in this lube, as the very first ingredient. Regardless, I’ll keep eating this lube. WITH A STRAW. Mmm, giggidy.

Wet Sugar Free Clear Flavored Body Glide Kiwi Strawberry

  • This is very similar to the above, except that it’s a different flavor and not warming. Waterbased. It’s not bad, but this flavor reminds me a bit of cough syrup. Also, this lube contains glycerin, and aspartame. Aspartame is the sweetener in diet sodas. I think this is strange. Also has parabens. I’m not going to rate this or the other flavors for general fucking usability, because you should not be using flavored lubes for fucking. I repeat, do not use flavored lubes to fuck. Why? They’re not well suited, usually. Because lots of them have sugar. This one, as it happens, has sugar (see above). So there’s your reason.

Group Three: The “Naturals” Glycerin and Paraben Free Group

Wet Naturals Glycerin Free Paraben Free Enriched Body Glide “Sensual Strawberry”

  • Waterbased. I’ve got to admit, I didn’t really care for the taste of the strawberry. Maybe it’s that it’s natural lube. Some people might like it, I just didn’t find it very “strawberry,” for my tastes. However, it is quite mild and while I don’t care for it, I don’t hate it eithere. It’s too light to really hate, so if you’re just looking for a hint of flavor and a natural, safe lube, this is it.

Wet Naturals Glycerin Free Paraben Free Enriched Body Glide “Beautifully Bare”

  • I like this lube. Waterbased, and pretty par for course. It’s good, flavorless, odorless, and stays slick for a good while. When it’s done, it doesn’t get sticky, just slightly tacky, and it isn’t stringy either. Some thicker lubes can be a bit stringy, but this is nice and thin and slick. Also, there’s no bad stuff in this lube, which means no junk for your junk!

Wet Naturals Glycerin Free Paraben Free Enriched Body Glide “Silky Supreme”

  • This is a silicone based natural lube, with no glycerin and no parabens. It’s really very slick, daresay just as slick as the premium body glide in the non-natural formula which I LOVE. This stuff stays so slick, and I think that you’ll probably finish before it stops being slick and nice. Thin, slippery, excellent. This premium lube could easily be the gold standard of natural silicone lubes but I have no other natural lubes to compare it to. In my opinion, it’s pretty flawless. It has limitations though; you can’t use it with your silicone dildo. Sad, I know. You’ll live. (No, you won’t.)

Group Four: Massage Oil and Misc.

Inttimo by Wet Aromatherapy Massage & Bath Oil Forbidden Fruit

  • I was really excited about this. We kept not using it tho. We would bring it, first to my birthday get away, and then didn’t use it. Then many an evening would pass where we didn’t use it. In fact, and I know it’s sad, we still haven’t officially used it but it was the only thing we hadn’t tried so I just sat playing with it to see how it was so that I could get this review in gear. And I have to report that it feels really nice. It doesn’t dry sticky, but it doesn’t leave you silky smooth like a fresh shower either. You’ll be a tad tacky, just slightly, but not oily or greasy at all. It absorbs pretty much into the skin. It also smells absolutely divine. The forbidden fruit is delicious, and the first ingredient is Sweet Almond Oil. It smells delicious, but it’s a massage and bath oil and possibly not too well suited as a lubricant.

Wet Pheromone Alluring Lubricant Water Based

  • I don’t understand this lube. I just don’t. Pheromones? Is it supposed to smell and attract a mate? I gotta say, if you’re going at it solo, I don’t see how this will bring them running if you’re alone in a room, and if you’ve got a mate then… perhaps it will distract them from that book they’re reading? The last two ingredients are “pheromones,” and “fragrance.” It also contains glycerin, sadly, so I won’t be using it much/at all anymore to avoid yeast infections. Waterbased, but it’s got an odd smell, maybe a little musky. I can’t put my finger on it, but I didn’t notice that it made me hornier or allured me. I wish they’d make it without glycerin so I could give it a very rigorous testing. Rawr. ;)

Group Five: The Shave Creams

Inttimo by Wet Rash Free Kitty and Total Body Shave Kreme Forbidden Fruit with Aloe Vera and Vitamin E

  • I liked this. I’ve heard from others who say it doesn’t work well for them, but for me it did because apparently I’m a shaving novice and my alternative is mild soap. Yeah, I shave without shaving cream, so what? It worked well and my skin was softer afterwards and had less post-shaving bumps. I doubt I’d buy more once this runs out, because frankly I don’t leave it in the shower and still find myself using soap in a pinch and don’t notice much difference with regular shaves. New shaves from a very hairy state are a different story though, as you should either trim first or else would need to make a few swipes with a razor, and in that situation this shaving cream would be quite handy

Wet Total Body Rash Free Shave Cream for Men

  • This is very similar to the shaving cream for women, but has a different scent. So if you prefer something less fruity but still want all the benefits of an actual shaving cream, try this out. It says rash free, and I found it to be so. I have very sensitive skin, so this should be good for most, but if you have specific allergies you’re going to want to read the label of this and any lube or anything you’ll be putting on your body.

All of those lubricants look interesting, though i haven’t tried any of them yet myself. There is certainly a diversity of opinion amongst the various products offered. I think I may wait until I’ve purchased a nice big strap-on to decide which lubricants would be best with it (also depending on the recipient-partner). I think I’ll click on the sex toys link and see where that takes me.
