TLL Adult Review: Chill Pill

tll-rejectedThe Chill Pill from VibeReview is what they describe as an enlarged bullet vibrator. Think of the itty bitty bullets – this one’s bigger than that, 4.5″ x 1.5″. It’s a good size and is easy to hold. It takes two N batteries, which can probably be found at your local photography store. I don’t even know where there is a photography store around here. I’d prefer if it took AA’s, because quite frankly it’s large enough that it easily could take AA’s. The back of the package describes powerful multi-speed action. Maybe I’m just spoiled, but I didn’t find it powerful. I actually found it a little frustrating. Just as I was getting close, it was not quite enough for me.

chill-pillThis vibe does have some things going for it. It’s quiet, waterproof, and I tested it in the shower. My first ever shower review! There’s a little clear rubbery ring on the part where you screw the halves together, that’s what helps it seal and makes it waterproof. The shape is pretty cool, so if you’re looking for a blue “happy pill” vibe to get for a friend who wants to pop a pill (into their pants), this could be good and amusing. It says the shape is discreet, thus making it good for travel, but if I saw this in your purse I’d still be all, “Yo… that’s a vibrator in your purse,” not, “Man, your meds are freaking horse pills.” Who are they kidding?

From what I can tell, this is a decent quality and inexpensive vibrator. There are no cords or wires, no moving parts, just a simple screw together pill vibe that is made of solid, pthalates free material. For this reason, I think it would last reasonably well. A lot of inexpensive vibrating toys break because their soft material causes the internal workings to get mangled during use, because it’s not rigid enough to protect itself. This one is rigid enough that it’ll likely last a while. However, it’s not strong enough that I would particularly look at it twice, so the fact that it’s probably good quality just means it’ll be in the way longer. I’m the kind of person who, if not excited by the toy for starters, also has to haul ass to the photography store to buy N batteries to make the non-exciting toy work again, I’m just as likely to put it in a box and toss it in the closet and forget about it. If you’re new to the game, and you’re thinking about taking a chill pill, I urge you to consider your options. VibeReview has a number of really great beginner vibes that will be stronger and have easier batteries to replace, for example, the Laya Spot that I reviewed here a while ago takes AAA batteries and is stronger and more ergonomic than the Chill Pill, and also able to be taken in the shower, as it is splashproof. Head on over and browse around, and if you decide to get the Chill Pill – if N is your battery and you like a vibrator to be a little less strong – then enjoy!

Lesbian Quotes

Men often say, ‘Women! Who could ever understand them?’ Don’t ask a lesbian for the answer. All you’ll get is a sympathetic nod.” — Joanne Brigden
