TLL Adult Review: Anti-Bacterial Toy Cleaner

tll-approved When you’ve got sex toys, toy cleaner is always a good idea. If you’re picking something up at SexToys, be it a vibrator or a dildo, toss in a toy cleaner with your purchase. Why? Well, it’s always a good idea to wash your toys. I always do the soap and water thing, but sometimes a spray-on wipe-off toy cleaner is good for a pinch till you can get to the sink. The Climax Bursts Anti-Bacterial Toy Cleaner is not that kind of toy cleaner. This is thick, like hand soap (or Climax Bursts lube), and under water it foams like soap. It REALLY foams up a lot. Like, I used too much and filled my sink with suds. What you’re getting here is a specialized soap for toys. It’s nice, but I would just use soap, if I was going to the sink anyway. (I’m lazy and cheap like that.)

This lube contains sodium laureth sulfate. And also lactose, which is odd, but the sodium laureth sulfate is common in soaps and it’s something I’m trying to get away from. There’s lots and lots of ingredients in here that are long chemical names. I won’t list them all, just these two that stand out as potential problems. If these are things you’re trying to avoid, too, then stick with a hand soap that you use and know you don’t react to. If you’re looking for a toy cleaner, don’t mind these chemicals, and want something soap-like for your cleaner, this is it! A lot of other cleaners are like anti-bacterial sprays, where as this one is an honest to goodness soap. My two recommendations on this topic are as follows. The best is going to be Afterglow Wipes. I mentioned them before, they’re like baby wipes and work equally nicely on toys as well as on your parts. I can’t remember if there are harmful ingredients in them, but I’m very sensitive to chemicals and have used them on my body with no reaction. Similar to these, but slightly cheaper (in the long run) is a spray by Pjur which is alcohol and fragrance free. The fragrance is really a killer, lots of junk can be summed up in the word “fragrance.” In the end, it’s up to you. Whatever you do, make sure you clean those toys!
