TLL Adult Review: Iris
I love toys by LELO. VibeReview also loves LELO toys, I know this because they’re consistently some of the most popular vibrators on the site. You may have seen some of my reviews of other LELO toys here, but my favorite has been Gigi since I first got her. That’s changed, because everything that Gigi isn’t, Iris is. Iris is bigger. For an insertable vibe, bigger means it’s easier for me to stimulate my g-spot because then it’s just a simple matter of rocking it “upward” (towards belly button). Iris has a lovely sensuous curve and ridges that look like a flower, hence the name Iris.

The Basics
This is a LELO vibrator that comes in a black storage box and a black and white lined satin storage case (the white is the lining, the black is the exterior, it’s very nice). It comes with a 1 year warranty, a charging cable, instructions and the Iris.
What’s the difference between Iris, Gigi and Liv?
The main differences here are pretty obvious in a lineup. Iris is bigger than Liv or Gigi. Iris and Liv are roughly the same shape, but Iris has ridges. Gigi has the curved flat head for g-spotting. Which do I recommend? Internally, the Iris, if you like a little size (or a big size). Externally, and for those who like slender penetratables, Gigi. I do still love Liv, but I personally do not get as much use from her as from Gigi and now Iris. When I think of Liv now I am reminded of what she isn’t, and Liv isn’t big or ridged and doesn’t have two motors. Sorry, Liv.

Gigi (top) and Iris (bottom)
Iris does have two motors, and for this reason the vibrations of the Iris are stronger. One motor is in the middle by the metal ring, and one at the tip. Pressing the right arrow button turns it on to high but only the tip motor. You need to press the up arrow to rotate through some truly excellent pattern settings. This coming from the girl who usually loathes pattern settings. The “basic” setting is continuous vibration of tip, second is continuous vibe of base, third is short interval pulsation of both, fourth is extended interval pulsation of both, and fifth is godly as all holy heck, continuous vibration of both motors. Mmmmeow. Why bother having two motors, say you? When inserted, the tip vibrates at your g-spot (or there abouts) and the base vibrates at the opening of the vagina, where there are lots of nerves just waiting to be stimulated. Meow indeed.
My only thing is, and I think this is a personal issue, using it internally doesn’t quite get me there without something going on at the clit. Yes, it’s a common thing, I know probably a lot of you are in that boat where the party has to hit the clit for orgasm to happen. In an ideal world I think it would be cool to orgasm without any clitoral stimulation, but clit stimulation feels good and there’s no reason to overly frustrate yourself when you’re getting down. I find it’s nice to use Iris internally against the g-spot while using my fingers or a small vibe against my clit.
Since the Iris, like Gigi and Liv and most of LELO’s offerings, is made of deliciously smooth matte silicone, you’ll want a waterbased lube to go with it. Try Wet Original Body Glide. Wet is a good brand and their waterbased lube stays slick for a while, and is good to get you started and help you finish.
Are you looking for a place to store your Iris and a few other toys and lubes? Try this locking case, and stay tuned for an in depth review of it in the coming week!
