TLL Adult Review: Spine Tingler
It’s a dildo! I feel like it’s been a while since I’ve reviewed a dildo. This is the Spine Tingler made by Tantus and available through Babeland. It’s got a flared base making it harness compatible, but the narrowness at the bottom means it’d work best with a smaller O-ring in the harness. It’s 100% Platinum Silicone, which is the highest grade of silicone. Tantus toys have a reputation in the sex toy industry for being very high quality, for this very reason. The Spine Tingler has a smooth glossy finish. It’s lovely, and like many of Tantus’ dildos it has a sort of pearlescent quality about it.
The Spine Tingler is safe to boil or autoclave. You can also bleach it in a 10% bleach solution or use alcohol swabs. You could pop in the dish washer. The bottom line is that the silicone Spine Tingler is 100% non-porous and is a very stable material that is not going to melt or seep if it gets warm (unlike jelly toys which will). Use only with waterbased lube, as silicone lube will degrade the material of the toy.
The Spine Tingler is a slender dildo with four ridges on one side and a slight curve intended for g-spot stimulation. I tried it anally and am pleased to find it slender enough to use comfortably. I enjoy anal play, but I can’t really have anything too wide, so the fact that the width here is just one inch at the widest makes it just about perfect for me, and a very excellent beginner dildo if you plan to be using it anally. The ridges feel interesting going in and out. A note; if you’re going to use it both anally and vaginally during one play session, put a different condom on for each person/orifice, etc.
The Spine Tingler is on sale at Babeland right now, but if this isn’t your cup of tea, Babeland carries a number of other Tantus silicone dildos, many (or all) of which are harness compatible. Some suggestions are the similarly styled G-Curve Dildo which has the ridges, a more pronounced curve, and more girth. If you want a basic, beginner dildo to strap on try the Silk which is very smooth and available in three sizes. You don’t want the ridges, but you want it a little more exciting than the Silk? Look at Electra, with a lovely girthy g-spot curve. I haven’t tried either of these three, but they’re made of the same high quality silicone and any and all of them would be purchases that will last you many many happy years.
