TLL Adult Review: Dai Do #1
No, it really is Dai Do, not dildo. Every Dai Do is a dildo (of sorts) but not every dildo is a Dai Do. The Dai Do #1 is rather thermometer shaped, and I like that. I’ll tell you now, I was nowhere near excited enough for the Dai Do #1 to arrive. I should have been way more excited! Their promotional images and my pictures do not do these justice. Not only are they beautiful, they feel so nice. The Dai Do #1 is made of stainless steel (the silver colored band) and aluminum alloy (body of the toy) which is not brushed or matte like on iPod Nano Mini whatevers, but has a mirror finish. This lends to a maybe startling experience when picking it up if you don’t realize it’s going to be so heavy in your hands. It weighs 14 ounces, just two shy of a pound, and has a black silicone “grip” area on the handle. The ball end is 1.9″ diameter at the ball, and it’s 7.2″ long overall.
Since my post where I complained about summer here being cold last month, August decided to slap us in the face with 90 degree weather, then got chilly again, and now it’s September and it’s warm again. When I got home from work this evening excited to try the Dai Do for the first time, I decided to let it sit in a glass of ice water for a little while first. After five minutes, it was cold. Not like ice – you shouldn’t ever put dildos in the freezer – but like the temperature of a glass of ice water. There was condensation on the part that wasn’t in the water. This toy conducts temperature very well. If you’ve never tried cooling down a toy like this, it’s really definitely something you should try. It’s a great way to cool off when it’s ridiculously hot outside. I also love that it warms with your body and then feels almost hot with use.
This is a really well made dildo, but note that the ball end is large. It’s bigger than you think it is. I can’t wrap my fingers all the way around this ball… which is just the way I like it. If you like size, try this out, the feel of the thick ball being thrust slowly is really nice against the g-spot. With toys with curves, I need to rock them upwards to strike my g-spot, and thought I’d be struggling with this to lift it up against my g-spot, but I was wrong. Surprisingly, it just does it. Just being large and round with a narrow shaft means it’s geared to hit the g-spot as it slides by. Sort of like a really badass orgasmic high five.
The drawstring pouch is awesome but the ribbon closure is strange. It’s like one piece of ribbon looped through a zillion times so it’s kind of hard to draw in. It should be two pieces of ribbon sent alternating ways. I’ll likely fix it (cut and re-tie) just to save my sanity, but the bag itself is nice and not just a single layer of fabric, but two, and long enough to fold over at the top. Some toys I’ve gotten have had a bag that’s just barely long enough, or no bag at all. I’m not docking points for the ribbon.
As far as rating this toy, starting off with a perfect 10 and docking points for flaws, I’m going to dock only .5 of a point because lube or wetness has the potential to maybe get stuck under the silicone grip band. The potential is there, because you can move it a tiny bit if you nudge it with your thumb, but I have never experienced this so -.5 point for potential, but not the other .5 point for actual experienced problem. So, 9.5 in my book.
The Dai Do #1 is in my top 2 favorite dildos of all time, being up there with Fun Factory’s Curve. This is a desert island dildo. If I knew I was going to crash on an island, I’d make sure this was in my luggage.

I didn’t realize this would have some weight. For some reason, it looks light. LOL
