TLL Adult Review: Smartballs Teneo Uno and Duo

Hot:

The Smartballs Teneo Uno and Duo are an updated kegal exerciser made by Fun Factory and available through Good Vibes. There was an earlier generation made from TPR but the Teneo models are made from body safe, ultra-hygienic silicone on the outside and are hollow (but completely sealed) with a weight that rolls around inside the balls. These weights move as you move and stimulate your muscles to clench and keep the Smartballs inside you, and in this way it works out your kegal muscles.

There are a number of these products that are similar. I’ve tested most of them at this point, and my personal preference still leans to the Luna Beads because they are smaller, smoother, easier to insert and I can feel the inner weight moving more, however if I’m honest my kegal exercisers don’t see enough use. This is due in part to the fact that once I’m to the point where I’m putting stuff in my vagina, I’d rather get off than go wander around, which defeats the purpose.

The advantage the Smartballs Teneo series has is twofold. They are solid and without the “girdles” that the Luna Beads employ to swap out the different weight classes of the balls, which means they don’t take on water, which was a criticism some had of the Luna Beads. Additionally, there is the Uno model which I feel would really appeal to a lot of women, myself included. When women see the double ball model of kegal exercise devices in my store, the first thing they ask is, “Do you put BOTH inside you? That’s big.” Well, if it seems like too much to put two in, then maybe try the Smartballs Teneo Uno and then move up to the Duo if you want to. I prefer the Uno just because of the shorter length. The two are a bit much in at once walking around, and I can’t see anyone going about their business with one out and one in. That doesn’t seem secure in the least. The Uno is a much more comfortable fit for me, for going around.

I haven’t had any trouble getting them in, but I’m fairly flexible and used to larger dildos, like my new wooden one from Hans. It does require a bit of lube and a few minutes to ensure they’re in enough that they won’t come right back out, and some people might have trouble with the fact that they are ball shaped and go right to that 1 1/2″ diameter rather than having any kind of significant taper.

Another common question people ask is, ‘Do they work?’ I have noticed that they do help tone the muscles and make me more aware of my body and doing kegal exercises, but most days I forget to use them. If you’re committed to it and make an effort for roughly thirty minutes a day a few times a week, you should notice a difference in a couple of weeks. If you use them a couple days and put them in the bottom of the drawer, they’ll do about as much good as the gym membership you haven’t used in half a year. It’s all up to you and how much you use the tools.

Teneo Uno and Duo Features

  • Each ball is 1 1/2″ diameter by 1 3/4″ length (so the Duo is twice as long, with a connector between)
  • 100% Silicone
  • Solid, seamless, fully enclosed for ease of cleaning
  • Uno: smaller, one ball size, more suitable for beginners
  • Duo: larger, two ball size, for those looking for a little more to work with
  • Groove by removal cord to allow easy insertion
  • Available in fun colors

If you’re interested in toning your kegals, I’d suggest trying the Smartballs Teneo Uno first because the shorter length make them more usable, in my opinion. Pair it with a touch of waterbased lube to ease insertion, and you’re well on your way. Then if you’re thinking of upgrading, I’d suggest the Luna Beads, personally. More options for weight and smaller, which makes them an easier transition from the Teneo Uno.

Does the cord on the Smartballs freak you out as much as it freaks me out? I hate how it stretches, and have heard one report of it breaking. If nothing else, that keeps me from using Smartballs and going back to my beloved Luna Beads.

It doesn’t freak me out, but I don’t use the cord vigorously. I pinch them together and tug, rather than grab the loop and tug, and then once I can, I hold the balls.
