TLL Adult Review: Sunny Tickler
There is a new line of brightly colored, body-safe silicone, single-speed vibrating toys and they’re called Ticklers. Don’t get so excited. You might think these toys seem to be geared towards sex toy novices because of their bright, non-threatening colors and their cute aesthetic, but you’d be wrong. There may be a variety to choose from: the happy yellow Sunny Tickler, a pink Bunny Tickler, a clapping blue alien Mystic Tickler, a purple Cute Tickler, and the purportedly stronger black Rebel Tickler, but I’m not convinced any of them will get you off.
All of the Ticklers run on the bitty N batteries. This baffles me. There is absolutely enough room for a single AA battery, and if not, they could have made it a might longer to accommodate. It’s certainly wide enough for it. While they all use the same battery, some are stronger than others, and the Sunny is supposed to be one of the weaker ones, so I can’t necessarily speak for the strongest of them, the black Rebel. However, I’m sad to say that the Sunny Tickler has a high light diffuse buzz that is going to disappoint. The actual vibrating part of the tickler is in the body, below the neck, far from where the toy will touch your clit. This is what makes the vibrations feel diffuse in the head, and very buzzy on your hand. This will do nothing for your clit. I mean… nothing. After five minutes I realized I was so far from orgasm that I was bored! I tweeted my frustrations.
Seriously, though, this is really bothering me. Why can’t I get off with the Sunny Tickler? Do I overindulge in the AcuVibe Mini? Have I gotten less sensitive? Am I losing my mojo? Or are the Ticklers just too weak to do the job properly, and stand to improve from user response? I think maybe that last one is right.
How to Improve a (Sunny) Tickler
- Switch the battery to one AA
- Put the motor in or nearer to the flower
- Be sure this makes the power at least 300% stronger and less diffuse
- Consider making it two or even three speeds
- Make the neck a tad less flexible
Instead of getting a Tickler, allow me to remind you all about how much I like the Laya Spot. They’re not silicone, but Thermoplastic Elastomer which is just slightly porous but safe for single person use. More importantly, it has a wide range of vibrations from very soft and gentle to a nice medium strength rumble. Ergonomic and colorful, they’re perfect for the beginner. They may be $10 more, but they’re going to be $10 well spent. Trust me. So, head on over to My Tickle Spot, a store that has a whole lot more than just Ticklers, and consider getting the Laya Spot.

Preach it, sista.
