LesbianGamers.com Relaunch

My name is Kelly and I am a gamer. There are several levels of gamers. I like to think of myself as a casual gamer. When I have a long day there’s nothing like popping Call of Duty into my xbox 360 and shooting things up. I’m a First Person Shooter kinda gal. The sports games, RPG’s, and the rest of the gaming world isn’t much for me. However I have been talked into playing NHL 10 as of late since my girlfriend is a HUGE Red Wings fan. So many button combos and such little time.

There are also hardcore gamers. Those that live and breathe there consoles. Fanboys and girls across the globe that find the glitches, make youtube videos praising their favorite games, and who live by the religion that is Leroy Jenkins! Gaming is a lifestyle, but gaming can also be life.

Wheather World of Warcraft or Mario Kart is your thing an amazing site, LesbianGamers.com, just relaunched on February 14th. This site has continually filled an immense void for lesbian gaming. The site is packed full of reviews, news, and has a great forum. Lesbian Gamers now features an integrated Lesbian Geek.com, so all your geek and gaming news can be found in the one place.

For those of you that never game, or think it’s for those who still can’t see rated R movies I have this to say. Gaming is therapy. It lets you get away from the drum of real life if only for a moment. I get ridiculed all the time for “playing games” and wish I could show those people my heart rate once I’m in the zone. Surprisingly enough it lowers. Gaming is a community, and LesbianGamers.com is a great place to start to meet people who share youe love for your favorite games. So if you’re a hardcore lesbian gamer, the casual type like me, or just want to see what it’s all about I ask that you go check out the new site and poke around for a few. Frag out!

And if xbox 360 is your console of choice feel free to friend me. My Gamertag is: BloodDrunkKilla

Thanks for posting this! I think there’s a lot of stigma regarding gaming. People think you’re immature or something for liking games, and really you’re right, it’s an escape. And everyone has an escape, even if it isn’t gaming.

Thanks for posting this! I have been a gamer for years, migrated from pc to console and back to PC now. I love WOW (World of Warcraft Online) to those of you not inclined to the gaming scene.

I saw a statistic that 1 in 5 players of WOW is a woman! I’m not sure if I believe it, but a gal can hope! LOL

I do have to confess to being a “suit” and in my 9-5 job I’m middle management that is responsible, earn good income, and I’m in my 40′s. And I’m a lesbian who plays WoW. Four years ago, that was highly uncommon. Now, it’s growing to be less and less. I recruited other friends who are lesbians to the guild I’m in as it’s lesbian friendly. The guildmaster said, I turned to my wife one day (he’s a guy) and said “dear, our guild is made up of 4 lesbians and me”….and she said “and?”….”and he just laughed.” He is cool and happens to be a friend also. I brought some of my friends (and the 3 other lesbians) over to the server to merge guilds.

why do you care?
Simply put, find a friend you like or have an interest in, and band together…whatever game it is…

One of my friends is an avid console gamer…though I don’t hold that against her…LOL
I enjoy playing with other people who have something in common with me, but I also enjoy diversity also.

TO my other point, love the site! Keep up the good work.
