TLL Adult Review: Simply Blown Shudder

I’d like to give a big thank you to the kind folks over at the Kama Sutra Closet for letting me review the Shudder glass dildo by Simply Blown. Mine’s a size large and is 7.5 inches long by 1.5 inches in diameter, making it sizable but not unmanageable. Each Simply Blown dildo is hand blown and nice and heavy in the hand. They’re available in jewel tones; Ruby, Aqua, Emerald, and Amethyst and each are completely gorgeous, though I chose aqua. Your Simply Blown dildo arrives in a gorgeous box with a foam lined interior to ensure safe shipping, but also to ensure safe storage, if you don’t decide to show it off on a shelf. The Shudder has a smooth, undulating shape. It’s not textured, just interestingly shaped, so if you prefer textures you’ll want to check out the Shiver.

I love Simply Blown. What’s not to love? Their dildos gorgeous, but they aren’t only gorgeous. They’re also very well made. Which is good, because it’s not enough to just have a pretty dildo if it’s not well made. No need to worry about that with Simply Blown! A glass dildo that is too light always freaks me out, but the Shudder is pleasantly heavy in my hand. It’s not too heavy for easy use, but just heavy enough to feel solid, sturdy, and well made. Also, no pictures that you’ll see will do this dildo justice. It’s so pretty it almost sparkles in the light, and seems to be many shades of blue all at once. When I have a house I’m going to have a weird cabinet for showing off interesting things, and this dildo may well end up in there underneath a light because it’s really very beautiful.

The Shudder is going to work best for people who like a dildo for thrusting or a general feeling of fullness, and that’s what I like it for most. The base is easy to hold and thrust, and it’s long enough to be able to use easily. I sometimes have trouble getting a good grip on short dildos when thrusting them. Also, there’s a unique feeling that you can only get with smooth glass, and you can safely warm it up or cool it down in warm or cool water (or the fridge, but really don’t pop dildos in the freezer). I wasn’t overly impressed with the undulations themselves because I couldn’t notice them that much, but if you want something not quite smooth and not too textured, the Shudder is the way to go. Myself, I think I would have preferred the more textured Shiver.

If you want a glass dildo by Simply Blown but you’re looking for something a little different than the shudder, check out the textured Shiver, the completely smooth Silky, the swirly Spiral, or the double ended, smooth and slightly curved Siamese. Each of these is offered in different sizes to accommodate anyone’s preferences, and each is available in Simply Blown’s four signature colors. While you’re checking out Kama Sutra Closet’s offerings, check out their most recently added things!
