TLL Adult Review: Clitoral Hummer
I want to thank Sex Toys for providing today’s review, the Clitoral Hummer. Back when I was working at the local sex toy shop, this was a toy I ended up recommending to people a lot. Why? Well, with a store full of harmful jelly alternatives, this was a strong vibrator made out of body safe, hard plastic. It’s also waterproof, and looks a little like that painting, The Scream, what with it’s scooped front to cup the clit and the pointed back to pinpoint it. You can use it either way.
I had not, however, tried this toy except for on my hand prior to this. On my hand, it was fine. As I made this determination, I was simultaneously judging people who didn’t want to buy it because the plastic was “too hard” and they wanted something jelly or whatnot. (Please don’t opt for something jelly just because hard materials are not to your liking.)
I’m back to say that now, after trying it, and knowing what a lot of other toys feel like, hard plastic and vibrations are certainly strong, but they are not necessarily the most comfortable thing you can feel against your clit. Or maybe it’s just the shape of this toy, with the jutting nub on the back. I found I had stopped using it after a few times, and the only time I picked it up since I lost interest was when my Form 2 died because I had forgotten to charge it.
However, if you’ve tried regular hard plastic vibrators in the past and don’t mind that aspect of them, this is a decent toy to get. It’s inexpensive at under $12, and the vibrations aren’t “buzzy” they’re actually “rumbly.” The package says it and it’s actually true: there’s “gyrating” action. That’s the rumblyness. The vibrations are so rumbly that it moves the toy with enough force that it gyrates. That’s precisely the kind of vibration I like. So it does gain a few points there. It wears down the 2 AA batteries it requires kind of quickly, though, so you should really pop for rechargeable ones so you can keep them ready for whenever you want to use it.
I’m approving this one for the following reasons. It’s hard plastic, and therefore safe to use and safe with any lubricants. It’s waterproof. It takes AA batteries, not some wacky little ones. It’s strong and it’s rumbly. I readily admit I use too much pressure with things, so my feeling that it’s too hard could easily be a result of my over-zealousness. I think this is a good solid inexpensive toy that some folks could really enjoy as a beginner vibrator.
