TLL Adult Review: Silver Leather Jaguar Harness
I realized that I’ve been reviewing sex toys for over a year, and have only featured one post regarding strap-on harnesses. That’s just not cool because there are a lot of harnesses on the market, and more importantly, lots of people out there, all with different body sizes and shapes. I want to talk about the different materials, styles, and fits of some of these different harnesses. So today I introduce you to Aslan Leather‘s Jaguar harness in Silver.
It’s absolutely gorgeous. I might be biased, because I love silver leather in general, but I don’t think so. The silver leather shines and looks fantastic with any colored dildo, be it black, purple, or realistic, but it’s especially when paired with the equally awesome silver silicone Shaft Vibe by Happy Valley Silicone (also courtesy of Aslan for the purpose of this review). The Shaft Vibe is a silver semi-realistic 100% silicone dildo with balls that is hollow on the bottom to allow room for the included silver wireless bullet vibe to go in. If you don’t want it to vibrate, leaving the bullet out won’t impair the usability of this dildo, as it stands up just fine without it. It’s a good length and width, and with the tapered head and gentle upward curve it’s perfectly designed for easy harness use.
Design
There are two straps that go between the legs that are meant to be spread in the back so that each strap goes beneath each cheek (see the small image inside the big one to the right). In this way, a person’s genitals are accessible, because the straps leave a gap. Worn this way, you don’t get the leather straps rubbing along your genitals, which I hate, so I find this to be a huge bonus. But if that’s something you like, you can bring the two straps together in the back so it’s more like a g-string style. The Jaguar harness comes with a small leather piece that is fitted on the leg straps that allows a dildo to be anchored there to help keep it in place for the person wearing the harness to be penetrated. This is simple and works very well with any dildo or butt plug with a flared base.
The small leather strips around the black rubber O-ring on the driver’s pad (pictured above) unsnap to allow you to swap the O-ring with one of a different size if you wish, though it does not come with additional ones.
Sizing
The Jaguar style harness is offered in two sizes! I did not know this! At most online retailer it appears to be in one size only, 26″ – 42″, and that size doesn’t work for many bigger people. It’s also available in 36″ – 56″! This is plenty large enough for me, and do you know what? I actually needed it adjusted more snugly than I imagined I would. I measured myself like I measure myself for pants, which is to say I held the tape measure up flush to my natural waist (and hips! just to be sure it’d work if I wanted to wear it low). What’s better than this? I noticed on the Red Vegan Jag page that they’ll make them larger on request for no extra charge. It’s probably a matter of longer straps, which really makes sense. So if you’re bigger than 56″ or just at it and wanna be sure you’ve got some wiggle room, just shoot them an email and ask.
I talked to a couple of other plus sized people because I felt like I was doin it wrong. I like a harness positioned with the dildo very low, against my pubic bone because this stimulates my clit (indirectly), but to do this and keep the harness from falling off I had to have it adjusted high in the back so that it wouldn’t just fall off my hips. A larger bottomed person could wear it very low on the hip, front and back, if their bum would keep it from migrating south. This all has to do with your body shape, but considering the harness is adjustable, I’m confident anyone will be able to make it work, either low front and back with the booty keeping it up, or low in front and high in back to give it stability.
Is it available in non-leather for vegans?
Yes! Aslan offers a bunch of harnesses (and other fun things like floggers) for vegans. The harnesses are made of vinyl, the floggers are made of parachute cord, etc. No leather involved. This is great news for kinky and not-so-kinky vegans who are looking for high quality harnesses and accessories. They also make rubber harnesses, though not being vegan myself, I’m not sure if rubber is vegan or not.
The bonus with vinyl harnesses? They’re easier to clean than leather because vinyl can just be washed under the faucet, whereas with leather I spot clean with a damp cloth and use leather conditioner to make sure it doesn’t crack or deteriorate. I can’t find a page of care instructions (though I may have missed it) so I just treat it as I would a nice leather garment.
Be sure you check out their nice assortment of vibrating and non-vibrating dildos (compatible with their harnesses), restraints, bondage kits in colors to match their other pieces, as well as some really cool body harnesses.
Thank you again, Aslan!
