2 Responses to The Real L WordI wouldn’t look at it, even if I could access it. I finally took a look at a group picture of the women and not one of them interest me enough to make me want to see the show.
Maybe the creator of the L-word should have set the show in a lesbian bar. Then more diversity could be represented. The bar-tender and the bouncer and a couple of regulars could have been the central characters with different stories told about the different women who patronized the bar. I personally don’t want to see women who all look and behave alike. Women in general are more different than the women in the picture I saw and to have just that representation of lesbians is disappointing. Well, it would be disappointing if I gave a pinch.
Do lesbian bars have female bouncers?

The new Real L World is a horrible resprensentation of lesbian lifesytles. I am 57 years old and have been out for 30 years. My lesbian friends are certainly nothing like the characters on the show. My friends are caring, interesting, smart, and have a vocabulary that is larger than the “F word”. The casting director for this show needs to broaden her horizons. If this is the best California has to offer the world in regards to lesbians, we are in a heap of trouble.
