Featured TLL Authors

Hot:

The authors of The Lesbian Lifestyle come from around the world. Each author has volunteered to share their stories with our readers for several reasons. Recognizing that many of us have stories to tell, some authors hope that our readers will find themselves in one of their posts. Other authors have no where else to post their stories and have found TLL a secure and comforting place to do so. Some do it for the challenge of the monthly topics, and others simply love to write.

Many of the TLL authors have their own blogs or websites. This section of TLL will highlight the individual author’s blog and let you learn a little more about them. We will be focusing on a new author each month (give or take) so be sure to check back to learn about the amazing women that make up The Lesbian Lifestyle.

September 2008: julesjoyce

“I was in my mid to late 20s when I first came out. I lived in Chicago at the time. I first came out to my journal because I was terrified to tell anyone. Then I came out to a few friends and to my mom. I decided to come out because I was tired of living a lie.”

August 2008: FrancesM

“I’m a love child of the 70’s born to an interracial couple. I was raised by just my mom in Minnesota where I came to appreciate, under her guidance, organic food, music/art and how important a sense of humor is. Growing up in a hippy Catholic home, I was exposed to a love of nature and a desire for human equality. I would hear the bible quoted along with Janis Joplin.”

June 2008: Cody Grrl

“I came out just 15 months ago. I was in a hetero marriage and had been unhappy since the beginning of the marriage. I became interested in a friend and let it progress further than I ever had before. And the rest is history!”

May 2008: Jen

“Before I began this journey I searched the internet for stories like mine – stories of married women with children who left their marriages to be true to themselves.  I was frustrated by my inability to find my situation represented so minimally and felt very isolated. Having already written online for several years, it was a natural decision for me to start a blog to share my story, in hopes that it would reach other women in similar situations and perhaps give them some measure of connection and comfort. It quickly became a sanctuary for me to express my most raw emotions, providing both therapy and connection – and has continued to be an important outlet as I continue to navigate my journey into my new life.”

March 2008: Grumpy Granny

“While I personally feel that I could not be MORE married to my wife, I also feel strongly that the gender of two people should not matter ONE BIT when it comes to joining lives, loves, and hearts in CIVIL marriage.”

February 2008: Pink Coloured Glasses

“I think that it is vital that gay women have a voice. We are so invisible in society, our needs, experiences and desires are so often not acknowledged. I love the sense of community and solidarity in lesbian environment where every point doesn’t have to be laboured, or issue spelt out.”
