- The nominated blogs must be current and new content must be continually published.
- NEW for 2009: A blog may only win in 1 category. If a blog wins in two categories TLL’s managing editor will chose the blogs winning category based on topic and the other category will go to the 2nd runner up Be sure to tell your readers what category you are hoping to win.
- NEW for 2009: The Best Lesbian Blog Lifetime Achievement is replacing the Lesbian Blog of the Year Award. This Award can only be won once. The award represents longevity, excellence, and overall greatness in lesbian blogging. Nominated blogs need to have been posting for a year or more.
- Blogs that have won in previous years may win again. Except for the Best Lesbian Blog Lifetime Achievement Award.
- Vote totals are subject to periodic correction for identified cheating.
- In the event of identified cheating, the decisions of TLL’s Managing Editor as to the manner of correction is final.
- Everyone will be allowed to make 1 nomination in each of the 11 categories within a revolving 24 hour period. Everyone will be allowed 1 vote per category within a revolving 24 hour period. Votes and nomination will be tracked via email addresses.
- Using throw-away email services is strongly prohibited. The nominations and voting submissions will be reviewed for these sort of emails and will not count.
- TLL’s Managing Editor has the right to disqualify a blog from any category if it is determined that said blog blatantly does not fit into said category.
- Sponsors of The Lezzys can be nominated and win a Lezzy Award. Being a sponsor means that you have made a prize donation. TLL could not justify disqualifying a blog because someone made a donation.
- If one of the Top 3 nominated blogs declines their nomination for any reason the blog with the next most votes will take their position in the voting round.
The Lezzy Awards FAQ
My blog is nominated. What do I do next?: First off congratulations! Now you’ll want to promote more nominations to try and make it to the top 3 nominated blogs in your category. If you are unsure which category your blog is nominated in please contact Kelly. You can use the following nomination graphics below to post on your blog or feel free to create your own.
Please link the graphics back to http://thelesbianlifestyle.com. You can use any of the information posted here about The Lezzys on your blog. Be sure to let your readers know about the confirmation emails they will receive and need to click on for their nominations and votes to count. Unconfirmed nominations and votes will not count. Other great ways to promote your blog are through social networks like Facebook, Myspace, and Twitter.
The top 3 nominated blogs in each category will be contacted by TLL via email and will be provided a special graphic to display on their blog.
How do the nominations work: The nomination system will allow you to nominate 1 blog per category. You will be able to nominate your favorite blogs once every 24 hours. You will nominate the blogs of your choice by adding the URL, not the title/name of the blog to the nomination field. Nominations will last from February 15-22 at 12:00 am EDT. The top 3 nominated blogs will then go on to the final voting round which will begin on February 22nd at 12:00 pm EDT.
How voting works: As with nominations you will be allowed 1 vote per category within a 24 hour period. This is being tracked by email accounts so that more than one person can vote from the same computer/IP address. Voting will go from February 22 at 12:00 am EDT to March 2 at 12:00 am EDT. Votes will be tallied and the winners of all 11 categories will be announced on Wednesday March 3rd live on The Lesbian Lounge Podcast.
Why are these the 2009 Lezzy Awards and not the 2010 Lezzy Awards?: The awards are handed out at the beginning of each new year for the previous years activities. Thus the awards given out in 2010 are for a blogs performance in 2009.
What do I win?: Each year we try to gather prizes in exchange for advertising space so the winners get a little something. All items donated will be split up in equal monetary value among the 11 categories. If you win your category Kelly will contact you with more information.
That said, it is rough out there. There may be cases when prizes are not able to be given out. In that case we hope you will proudly display your winning award badge on your blog and hope we did all we could to send more readers your way.
If you have any questions or have any concerns with the nomination or voting system please contact TLL’s Managing Editor
